Background Info On WWE's New Announcer, Cesaro Confronts Cena After NXT, Sandow
- The dark match before last night's WWE NXT tapings at Full Sail University saw Damien Sandow defeat Brandon Traven. Traven was trained a few years back by WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race.
- John Cena was scheduled to wrestle in the dark main event after last night's tapings but obviously could not because of his injury. Cena came out after the tapings in a sling and spoke about being disappointed that he couldn't compete. One fan in attendance noted that Cena looked and sounded very tired. Cena thanked everyone for packing the house and said that he would be back when he's able to wrestle. Cena was interrupted by WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro. Cesaro ripped on Cena for not facing him but Cena introduced his replacement, World Heavyweight Champions Sheamus. Sheamus went on to beat Cesaro and then sign autographs for fans at ringside.
- As noted before, WWE debuted new announcer Tony Luftman at last night's NXT tapings. You can find him on Twitter at @TonyLuftman. Luftman previously worked as the lead announcer for St. John's TV network at St. John's University. He has also worked as a host for the NBA's Portland Trailblazers and a sideline reporter for the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies.
