John Cena's Doctor Reveals More Details On Why He Needed Elbow Surgery
- As noted before, WWE announced on Tuesday that John Cena had surgery to remove bone chips in his right elbow by Dr. Andrews in Alabama. Andrews used a scope to remove several pieces of bone cartilage from Cena's elbow.
Andrews says the procedure was "straight-forward" despite Cena's "big, old arm." He told WWE.com:
"He had begun to lose motion in his arm, and it had been locking up. I performed an orthoscopic procedure on his elbow and took out a bunch of spurs. Everything went really well."
Andrews added that Cena's rehabilitation will begin on Monday with trying to improve his range of motion and getting the swelling down. As noted before, WWE says Cena is expected to recover in 2-3 weeks but an update on his recovery will be available on Thursday when he is reevaluated by doctors.
