SmackDown Live Event Results From Reno (10/7) - Sheamus Vs. Del Rio In A "Last Man Standing" Match
Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Chris B. for sending in these results from last night's WWE live event in Reno, NV:
The first match was the Usos and Justin Gabriel vs the Prime Time Players and Yoshi Tatsu. Lots of back and forth action with both teams controlling equal parts of the match. The ending of the match saw Justin Gabriel hit the 450 splash on Tatsu for the win.
The next match was Heath Slater vs Tyson Kidd. Slater came out to some pretty heat. He cut a promo and does some horrible singing. This was honestly one of the best matches of the night. Tyson Kidd ends up getting the win with his finisher. After the match the Miz and Cody Rhodes hit the ring and beat down Kidd. They cut a promo talking down about Reno (they where totally right). Also saying how they where going to beat Mysterio and Cara later in the night.
Next was a typical Divas match between Aksana and Natalya. Sloppy work by Aksana. Natalya gets the win with the sharpshooter. On a personal note, Natalya is extremely nice and very friendly in person. She is also way more attractive in person than on TV.
The next match was Cody Rhodes and The Miz vs Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio. The match was dominated mostly by Miz and Rhodes. Rey gets the hot tag sets up and hits a double 619 on Rhodes and Miz for the win.
Wade Barrett vs Ted Dibiase is next. Barrett cut a heel promo. This was a good match with lots of back and forth action. The end saw Barrett hit his power elbow finisher for the win.
Jinder Mahal vs Ryback was next in a fans choice lumberjack match. There was actually wrestling in this match and not a typical squash match. The end had Ryback hitting all his power moves and then the fireman's carry-like slam for the win. After the match, all the lumberjacks brawled to the back leaving the Miz and Rhodes at ringside. They try to attack Ryback from behind but he turns around. Miz pushes Rhodes towards Ryback. Ryback then hits his finisher on Rhodes. Miz tries to go to the back but the Usos throw him back in the ring and Ryback then hits his finisher on Miz.
Main event was Sheamus vs Alberto Del Rio in a last man standing match. Great back and forth match with both men using a kendo stick on the other. There where a bunch of near 10 counts but the finish saw Sheamus hit Del Rio with white noise and a Brogue kick for the win. Sheamus is down in the corner as Ziggler's music hits. He comes running out with the MITB brief case and a ref. He tries to cash in but before the match starts Sheamus lays out Ziggler with a massive Brogue kick.
