Does WrestleMania Outdraw The Super Bowl?, Kofi Kingston Reveals Smelliest Wrestler (Video)

- During a recent interview with The New York Post, Triple H noted that WrestleMania has sold more tickets than the Super Bowl in arenas where they've followed the NFL extravaganza. PolitiFact took Triple H's comments to task, and found that he was accurate: 5 out of 6 stadiums which have hosted a WrestleMania after a Super Bowl have had more attendees for WrestleMania. However, the article is using the 93,173 attendance figure for WrestleMania III, which has been disputed. Also, the staging for a WrestleMania allows for more seats than for a football game. Still, WWE senior director of publicity Kevin Hennessy feels that the comparison is justified.

"The difference between WrestleMania and Super Bowl staging is that WrestleMania has a stage much like a concert so seats behind the stage are unavailable but would be used for football," Hennessy told the website in an e-mail. "However, for WrestleMania, seats are added to field level which would not be done for football. That is why we feel justified in making the comparison."
