TNA Impact Results: RVD Vs. Aries (X-Division Title), Hogan Confronts Bully-Brooke, Wes Briscoe

We begin this week with a recap of Wes Briscoe's Gut Check from last week and Aces & 8's latest casualty. We will hear from Hulk Hogan about Austin Aries' bombshell about Brooke and Bully Ray.

-We go to pyro and crowd shots. Hogan's music hits and he makes his way down to the ring.

Hogan gets a nice reaction and he says his world almost imploded last week. He says he is the GM but a father first. Hogan says he wants to know the truth and he calls Bully Ray out to fess up. Bully comes to the ring in street clothes. Bully says Hogan doesn't trust him, yet he wants to know what's going on from his mouth. Hogan says to cut the crap and wants to know what's going on between him and Brooke. Bully gets in his face and asks if he really wants to know who the number one man is in Brooke's life.

Brooke's music hits and she comes to the ring in a short black dress. Hogan asks her what is going on. She says she isn't 18 anymore. Hogan snatches the mic back and says he doesn't care and he wants the truth. He says as long as he's alive, he doesn't want her with any wrestler especially Bully. Austin Aries interrupts from the big screen. He is on Hogan's table in his office where X-Division stars are waiting for their GM. Aries lays down on the desk and wonders how Brooke does it. Hogan makes his way to the back. Brooke is shocked in the ring.

-We go to the announcers where they talk about what just happened. It is Championship Thursday. Who will Hogan pick to face Rob Van Dam for the X-Division Title? Gail Kim and "Hardcore Country" stretch in the back as we go to break.

Gail Kim vs. Mickie James

Kim makes her way to the ring followed by Mickie. Gail goes behind early and tries to roll up Mickie but she counters. Kim works the left arm and pulls Mickie's hair to take her down. Gail works Mickie in the corner and hits a clothesline to take her down. Kim drops Mickie in a reverse neck breaker for a 2. Kim applies a head scissors in the center of the ring. Mickie looks knocked out but she bridges her back to escape the pin. Mickie hits a faceplant and kips-up. Mickie misses from up top and Gail hits a running front dropkick and puts her feet on the ropes for the cover but Taryn the ref sees it. Mickie lands a nice kick to Kim and covers her but Kim kicks out. Mickie fights out of the corner and hits a head scissors takedown. Mickie drops Gail in a neckbreaker but Gail kicks out. Kim misses with the charge in the corner, Mickie hits a DDT off the 2nd rope for the win.

-James Storm talks about being a man and making choices in the back to AJ. He talks about his daughter being dragged into this. AJ tells Storm is whining. AJ says he doesn't get a title shot for a year. Storm tells him to stop looking back but forward. We go to break.

-Hogan storms into his office and backs Aries up. Hogan has to make a decision. He asks what Kenny King has done. Kid Kash and Zema Ion argue over who should get the shot. Hogan tells Kenny to leave and Aries leaves as well.

-We go to the ring for Bobby Roode's entrance. Roode grabs a mic and says he made a statement last week as we see a split screen of him taking out Christian York and Jeff Hardy from last week. Roode says Hardy almost got beaten by a Gut Check rookie. Christian York's music hits and he comes to the ring. Roode stops him in the ring and says it's his time and nobody interrupts him. He tells York to get out of his ring. York slaps him in the face and Roode escapes to the floor. York calls Roode out and Roode takes off his shirt as we go to an abrupt commercial.

Bobby Roode vs. Christian York

We return from break and the bell rings. Both men are fired up. Roode goes behind with an armbar and slaps York in the back of the head. Roode hits a shoulderblock but York responds with a flurry of tackles of his own. Roode goes out to regroup. Roode pulls York out and drives him into the apron. York reverses and sends Roode into the steel steps. York sends him in and goes up top but Roode makes him lose his balance and stomps York in the corner. York avoids Roode in the corner with a reverse elbow and a kick but Roode comes back with a nice clothesline. Roode hits a suplex and goes to the corner but York gets his boot up and hits Roode on the chin. They go back and forth. York mounts a nice offense. York goes up top and jumps on Roode's back with a double stomp. York hits the DreamScape in the corner but Roode kicks out. York counters a fisherman suplex and rolls Roode up for a near fall. Roode looks surprised and in a panic applies a crossface as York quickly taps.

Winner by submission: Bobby Roode

Roode goes out and brings in a chair and runs off the ref. Jeff Hardy comes down to the rescue but Roode escapes the Twist of Fate and runs to the ramp.

-We go to the announcers. They show the video of Aces & 8's recent vicious attacks.

-We go to Aces & 8's clubhouse. We see shots of their beer bottles as the main guy (VP) narrates. Devon says he wants what was stolen from him: the TV Title. He looks into the camera and says he wants Samoa Joe next week or all hell will break loose.

-Back from a break as the Gut Check judges discuss Wes Briscoe from last Thursday. They talk about Briscoe's heritage in the business and the fact that he is the only contestant to win his match. Taz says Kurt Angle's co-sign is important. Al and Bruce aren't that impressed with Angle's opinion.

-Back to live TV as Angle approaches Bruce Prichard in the back. He wants to talk on last time about Wes. Bruce says he's already made his decision. They try to locate Al Snow. Bruce tells Angle to find him.

-Kazarian and Daniels make their way to the ring. Kazarian says it's ironic that tonight AJ and Storm are a tag team because Kaz is sorry about AJ's damn luck. We go to commercial.

AJ Styles & James Storm vs. Daniels & Kazarian

AJ starts off with Kazarian. They go back and forth. Storm tags himself in. Storm hits punches on Kaz and backs him into the corner. Storm hits a reverse neck breaker and Daniels comes in for a back bodydrop. Storm tags AJ back in and they go to hit a double elbow on Daniels but AJ misses his mark. Kaz takes back over on AJ. Storm tags back in and takes it to Kazarian and hits an uppercut to Daniels on the apron. Kazarian gets the upper-hand with an assist from Daniels. Kaz and Daniels cut off the ring and continue to make quick tags and work over Storm. Kaz & Daniels do the Gangnam Style Dance. Storm leaps into his corner and makes the tag to AJ who turns it up. AJ hits a nice neckbreaker on Daniels and flies off with a forearm. AJ goes to leap onto Kaz on the floor but he lands hard on the floor. Daniels goes and brings AJ back in. They take care of Storm on the outside and continue to double team AJ. Storm takes Kaz out on the floor and tags himself in. Storm hits the Last Call on Daniels in the ring.

AJ slips out of the ring immediately and looks dejected.

-We go back to Hogan's office. He wants someone to turn things up tonight in the ring. Ion tries to kiss up. Kid Kash says he is one of the toughest guys in the company. He says he's already beaten Hardy. Hogan wants to hear from Aries. Aries makes his case. We go to break.

-Samoa Joe responds to Devon's challenge in the back. He says Devon abandoned the TV Title because he couldn't handle it. It wasn't stolen. He accepts the challenge for next week.

-Douglas Williams comes to the ring. Joey Ryan stops on the ramp and tells Christy Hemme to go make him a sandwich. He proceeds to introduce his tag partner, Matt Morgan.

Matt Morgan vs. Douglas Williams

Morgan is wearing Hogan's old robe he wore against Andre the Giant at Shea Stadium. Morgan starts off strong against Williams. Morgan works Williams over in the corner and drops him in a side slam. Morgan stops and glares at the hard camera. Williams tries to fight back but gets caught in a chokeslam. Morgan is slow and methodical. Morgan measures Williams and connects with the Carbon Footprint for the win.

-D-Lo and Bruce Prichard try to locate Al Snow in the back. D-Lo offers to fill in for Snow's Gut Check decision. We go to commercial.

-We return to the ring for the Gut Check results. Borash welcomes Wes Briscoe to the ring. Bruce Prichard asks for the mic and says Al Snow is conspicuous by his absence and nobody has heard from him. He says D-Lo is taking his place. Bruce says he has traveled the world with Wes' father and he has watched him grow into a man. Bruce says his performance wasn't the greatest, but he says yes. Taz also puts Wes over and says it means a great deal that Angle has vouched for him. He, however, respectfully says no. Borash lets Wes cut a promo to convince D-Lo. Wes thanks both Taz and Bruce. He says since he was a little kid, he wanted to be in this ring. He says he's doing this for his family and fans. He gets teary-eyed as he says he's doing it for his uncle Jack. He fights back tears as he asks D-Lo for a chance. D-Lo pauses as the crowd chants, "YES!" D-Lo thanks Taz and Bruce for the opportunity. He says Wes' match left him conflicted. He says if he is good enough for Bruce Prichard, then Wes is good enough for him. He says yes. Wes is beside himself with excitement as Garret Bischoff and Kurt Angle come down to congratulate him.

-We go to Hogan's office as he is confronted by Bully Ray. Bully asks if Aries offended him. He says if Hogan wanted Aries' head kicked in, why didn't he come to Bully and talk to him face to face. Bully says for the first time maybe Hogan is confusing business with personal. Hogan says maybe it's Bully who is doing that. We go to break.

-We see a promo with Jeff Hardy who will be on Ink Master on Tuesday.

-ODB talks about Eric Young in the back. She says he is in the hospital. She says she can't do this and leaves.

-We go to a rundown of the Final Resolution card.

-Aries tells Hogan behind the entrance curtain that he did all this so he could get back the X-Division Title and use it as the key to get back his World Title. Hogan thanks him for waking him up. He says it's time for some serious dental work courtesy of Rob Van Dam. Aries makes his way through the curtain and to the ring. RVD enters.

Borash does the formal introductions. The bell rings and here we go. They trade shots in the center of the ring and counter each other. RVD kicks Aries back into the corner and takes him down with a nice body scissors takedown. RVD hits shoulderblocks in the corner. Aries hangs on to the ropes as RVD hits a dropkick to the air and falls hard on his back on the mat. RVD hits a crossbody to Aries to the outside as we take a break.

Aries hits a neckbreaker on the rail and drags RVD into the ring. RVD kicks out of 3 consecutive pins. Aries hits an elbow and gets another near-fall. RVD fights back and connects with a kick to the face. Taz says his face has blocked many a kick from RVD. Aries hits a spike DDT but RVD kicks out. Aries hits a modified Rolling Thunder on RVD. Aries goes up top and mocks RVD and flies off but RVD avoids the Frog Splash. RVD connects with a kick off the ropes and hits Rolling Thunder to Aries. RVD hits the split-legged moonsault off the corner but Aries puts his foot on the rope to break the pin. RVD hits an elevated dropkick and goes up top but Aries runs and pushes him off to the floor. Aries puts RVD back in the ring and grabs a mic. Aries says RVD is all sweaty, lying on his back with his hair messed up, breathing heavy. He says RVD looks like Brooke Hogan. Bully Ray runs down and attacks Aries as the bell rings. Aries backs up the ramp and calls him an SOB and says Bully cost him the match. Hogan comes out on the stage and removes his watch. Aries is stuck on the ramp. Bully and Hogan have a stare-down as we go off the air. Bully says, "Still don't trust me? What's it gonna take?"
