WWE Scouts Two Top College Stars, Curtis Finally Gets His WWE Tag Team Title Shot

- WWE's Gerald Brisco was at the University of Minnesota vs. Oklahoma State wrestling match this past weekend to scout two of the best heavyweight wrestlers in the country – Minnesota's Tony Nelson and Oklahoma's Alan Gelogaev.

Nelson is a junior and the defending NCAA Champion. WWE, in trying to keep good relations with college programs, likely won't make Nelson an offer until after his college eligibility expires. Gelogaev is from Moscow and was a favorite to win the NCAA tournament last year but got injured. Gelogaev actually got hooked up with Oklahoma State through Daniel Cormier.

- WWE NXT star Johnny Curtis, who has been wrestling as Fandango, finally got his title shot from when he won season four of WWE's original NXT show. That season ended on March 1st, 2011. His title shot came on a recent episode of WWE NXT TV where Kane and Daniel Bryan defended the WWE Tag Team Titles against Curtis and Michael McGillicutty.

Curtis was actually supposed to get a tag title shot with his NXT Pro, R-Truth. It was actually explained by Jim Ross that the match against Team Hell No was Curtis getting his title shot from 2011.
