Velvet Sky Reveals Who Inspired Her To Become A Wrestler, Talks Toughness Of Knockouts

Velvet Sky recently sat down with Brandon Baxter on his morning show to discuss Impact Wrestling in Jonesboro and her wrestling career. Here are some highlights from the interview.

The toughness of the Knockouts division: "I'm super proud of the Knockouts we have here. We don't have any girly girls here that really would complain, or say we hit too hard, or that you're too rough with me or anything. It's like, once you're in the ring anything goes. If you get punched in the face, or if you get chopped too hard, ya know what? You have to take it. You have to roll with the punches. No pun intended. But, the Knockouts roster is super strong right now. We have girls like Gail [Kim], and Tara, and we're hoping to expand our Knockouts division. Ya know we don't have any sissies here."

On who inspired her to get into wrestling: "Just watching the likes of, specifically Lita, do what she did in the ring when she made her debut, what she brought to the table for women's wrestling, she really raised the bar. As soon as I saw her, I was an immediate fan. And I knew who she was from before when she was in ECW, but they didn't really let her wrestle. When she came, when she crossed over, when she made her debut and I just saw her move around the ring, she appeals to the guys, she appeals to the girls, I was just like wow. This chick is cool. I want to do what she does.

She also speaks about her athletic background prior to getting into wrestling. You can listen to the rest of the interview here.
