More Off-Camera Notes From Last Night's RAW: Problems Early In The Show, Crowd Reactions, More
Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Jesse Kelley (@effectedprime) for sending in this report for last night's WWE RAW taping at the Bi Lo Center in Greenville, South Carolina:
My family and I arrived at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC about 15 minutes before doors opened and the lines were backed up all around the Bi-Lo Center. I was told when I got there by a few people that there were no tickets available which completely shocked me because I never expected them to sell out the Bi-Lo Center.
Just like June 2012 the Bi-Lo Center dropped the ball. The doors opened about 6:35 EST and they only opened up 2 doors to let 15,000 people in. Luckily we knew someone in line and didn't have to wait that long to get in. Last year my wife and I were 20 minutes late getting into the arena because of this.
Bi-Lo Center has to get better at this because when the Superstars taping started the arena was only 1/4 full at best. I am sure WWE wasn't to happy about this.
By the time 8pm rolled around the arena was 90% full because I am sure WWE pushed the issue to get the people in. It was completely full by the end of Sheamus & Randy Orton vs. Big mhow Match.
This was my kids first WWE event. My boys are 7, and 5 and my daughter is 13. Lets just say they had a blast. My 7 year old and my daughter completely lost their voice from screaming so much.
I have had the opportunity to watch Raw on my DVR today and I have to say the crowd, while nothing like the IZOD Center, was a whole lot louder then they came across on TV. Yes there was a quieter period they really woke up for CM Punk and exploded, and I hate to say this, for John Cena. But when I watched it on my DVR is sounded like the reaction was mixed for Cena but in the arena it sounded very pro Cena. I did my part booing though.
It was a far better show than last year when Raw was year. That was the show that Michael Cole and John Cena were the main event and Cole got covered with BBQ Sauce.
I will be attending Smackdown November 5th with my family. I just hope the Bi-Lo Center does a better job with getting people in the building.
Biggest Pops:
John Cena – By a mile
Randy Orton
Sheamus
Brock Lesnar – from me
Kofi Kingston – when he won the US Title
Most Heat:
Ryback – when he walked away
CM Punk – Dueling Taker/Punk chants were awesome though
Damion Sandow – when he made reference to South Carolina which was great
Dolph Ziggler – Expect from my wife because she is in love with him and his ASSETS
The Shield – Mainly because my boys and all of the kids were upset he got beat up
Great family experience for my family and I and we can't wait to do it again.
