- As we reported in March, Detroit, Michigan received a request for a bid from WWE for WrestleMania 31 and/or WrestleMania 32. According to BlackBurnNews.com, the bid has been submitted. If accepted, the event would take place at Ford Field, which hosted WrestleMania 23 in 2007. The WrestleMania week events would be held in Windsor, which is about 15 minutes from Detroit. We noted in our March report that Windsor was seeking $60,000 – $65,000 for investment if Detroit were to secure the event. The benefit for Windsor from WrestleMania 23 was $624,000, from an investment of $60,000.

The Central Florida Sports Commission also received a request for a proposal from WWE earlier this year for the opportunity to host the events. The winning proposals to host WrestleMania 31 and WrestleMania 32 will be announced on August 1.
