TNA Live Event Results From Lexington (6/15): Sting Forces Bully Ray To Tap, Hardy Vs. Anderson

I went to the TNA show in Lexington, KY. Over all, we thought it was a great show and as a whole, more entertaining then any WWE house show I have ever been to. The crowd started off light but got hot as the show built. There may have been 2,000 people there, but still plenty of empty seats.

The first match was Kenny King vs. Chris Sabin in an X division title match. Solid match, Sabin was definitely over with the crowd and got the win.

Before the next match, there was a big introduction for Earl Hebner, he came out to really big pop at first but then started getting some "you screwed Bret" chants. He finally started reacting to this, played up to the crowd a bit and then finally took off his referee shirt to reveal a tee shirt painted up like a ref shirt that said, "damn right I did." He then went on to put on some sun glasses that looked like Bret's old glasses and danced around like Bret used to in his old introductions. It was very entertaining.

The next match was Velvet Sky vs. Mickie James for the Knockouts title. It was an average match with Velvet selling a knee injury. Mickie picked up the win.

Next up was Garett Bischoff vs. AJ Styles. Really slow match, especially for AJ, but Garett was getting a lot of heat, mostly for who he is though.

The last match before intermission was a tag title match with Bobby Roode and Austin Aries vs. James Storm and Gunner. Crowd was hot for this match at first, but died down quickly because both teams wasted about 10 minutes or more before the match even began. People in the crowd were yelling for them to "just wrestle already." Gunner and Storm picked up the win after a much that saw a little of everything and went all over the ball park playing area. Solid match, very good and they won all the fans back and had everyone into it.

After intermission, Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson squared off. I was actually looking forward to this match, but was disappointed because even though there were a few high spots, the match lasted only about 10 minutes. Hardy picked up the win with a Twist of Fate out of nowhere.

Kurt Angle and Sting vs. Team 3-D was the main event. Good match that lasted about 15 minutes or so with Angle doing most the ring work until the end. All four men eventually got into it and eventually got Devon out the ring. Sting then put the scorpion death lock on Bully Ray for a tap out win while Angle held off anyone from interfering. It was an 0-3 night for Aces & Eights.
