WWE Live Event Results From Manchester (6/1): Cena Vs. Ryback, Maddox Introduces "New" Superstar
Thanks to WrestlingINC.com readers DownwardSpiral69, Evan Hewey and Ryan for sending in these results from last night's RAW live event in in Manchester, NH:
Pretty good show in Manchester tonight, EXCEPT for the fact that there were NO Triple H shirts available. To be honest, the pickings were slim with 3-4 Cena shirts, 2 CM Punk Shirts, 2 Ryback Shirts, 1 Miz, 1 Ziggler and 1 Sheamus. Even R-Truth had a shirt for sale.
R-Truth defeated Antonio Cesaro. Pretty good match, went for about 10 minutes with Truth picking up the win. Cesaro's titantron video had a German flag instead of Swiss, so I don't know if that's new or what.
You hear Vickie's voice but Brad Maddox comes out clearing his throat saying excuse me. He proceeds to announce to the world his "new" international superstar... Hunico (what do you mean 'new'?). Nobody seemed to care. Out comes Ted DiBiase, who was WAY over, he even had his own chant tonight. DiBiase wins the match with Dream Street, but then Maddox announces that Ted isn't done, he's facing Brad. DiBiase goes back to the ring, hits Dream Street and it's all over. Hopefully he's getting ready for a push.
Tons of Funk defeated The Prime Time Players & The Bella Twins. Usual antics with Tons of Funk getting the win and dancing in the ring after the match.
Chris Jericho defeated Fandango. Fandango came out with Summer Rae for his 10 minute intro, then Jericho for their "Fan Chosen" match of the night: No DQ. Awesome match, Jericho had the crowd going the whole match, by far the most over Superstar of the night so far. After Fandango runs into a chair set up between the ropes, Jericho hits the Codebreaker and the match is over. There was a kendo stick and a chair used in the match. Good pops for both men, although Fandango was booed during the match.
Bray Wyatt defeated Zack Ryder. Most causal fans were for Ryder, and they didn't know who Wyatt was. But there were enough Wyatt fans to give him a decent pop. Not sure how his character will come over on TV, but it was awesome live. Very much Cactus Jack meets Kevin Sullivan. Zack does his usual stuff, but Wyatt hit his sister abigail finisher for the 3 count. Wyatt gets a good pop leaving, and Ryder gets booed. Wyatt was very impressive.
Sheamus defeated Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett via DQ. Blah match. Not sure if these two just don't have in-ring chemistry, but it seemed like Barrett was carrying Sheamus. Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick, Barrett ducks outside, grabs the title and tries to walk off. Sheamus grabs Barrett, pulls him back in and Barrett levels him with the title for a DQ win for Sheamus. After the match, Sheamus hits the Brogue Kick to send the kids home happy.
WWE Champion John Cena defeated Ryback in a tables match. Ryback attacked Cena before the bell, Cena turns it around quickly and goes for the 1st table (which had broken legs), so he stands it up at the ring post. Everyone avoids running into the table. Ryback goes outside and brings in the ring steps.... keeps going back and forth, a few tables are broken. Cena puts Ryback in the STFU and makes him "pass out," grabs the mic and cuts a promo to his niece in the front row (it's her birthday). Ryback gets up, knocks Cena out with the Meathook, and HE grabs the mic and cuts a promo against Cena.
So lets make a long match short, Cena climbs the stairs that are in the ring, hits the FU/AA on Ryback through the table to win the match.
To be honest, the crowd just wasn't into it either way. Couldn't even get a good "Lets Go Cena/Cena Sucks" chant going. Or even a good Goldberg chant (although you could hear people trying). The biggest chant the whole night (besides one for Y2J) was "Undertaker/CM PUNK."
Biggest Pops:
1. Y2J
2. Cena
3. Sheamus
4. Ted DiBiase
5. R-Truth
Most Heat:
1. Fandango
2 Wade Barrett
3. Antonio Cesaro
4. PTP
5. Zack Ryder
Special Category for X-Pac heat:
1. Ryback
2. Brad Maddox
3. Hunico
and the biggest Heat for NOT being in the building (Just the sound clip of her voice) goes to Vickie Gurerreo.
