Former Memphis Wrestling Promoter Corey Maclin Dies In Accident At Age 43

Former Memphis Wrestling promoter Corey Maclin died in a car accident late last night. He was 43 years old, and was married with six children. According to the Mississippi Highway patrol, Maclin's car rolled over Tuesday night at 10:30 pm.

Maclin was a local sports anchor and business owner, but he was best known for being a commentator and promoter for the Memphis Wrestling promotion. During his time with Memphis Wrestling, he was involved in feuds with WWE Hall of Famers Jerry "The King" Lawler and Koko B. Ware.

Maclin had also booked the "Clash of the Legends" card in 2007, which was originally scheduled to be headlined by Hulk Hogan vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler. WWE pulled Lawler from the event because Hogan was working the show, and the main event was changed to Hogan vs. Paul "Big Show" Wight (who was not working for WWE at the time). Maclin sued WWE and Vince McMahon for pulling Lawler, alleging the company violated section two of the federal Sherman Anti-Trust Act.

He was also later involved in a trademark lawsuit with Lawler over the "Memphis Wrestling" name in 2010.
