ROH Star Caprice Coleman Talks His Ideal WrestleMania Opponent, Wrestling Career, More

On the most recent episode of Pancakes and Powerslams, I had the pleasure of interviewing ROH star Caprice Coleman. Here are some highlights from this passionate discussion:

How he got started in wrestling: "I saw Dusty Rhodes wrestling Barry Windham and was hooked on wrestling ever since. Looking at them they were kinda like comic book heroes and I always mimicked myself after them growing up. After looking at Ricky Morton, Jushin Liger and Brian Pillman, I thought, 'maybe I could do this one day,' and it went from there."

Who inspired him to start wrestling: "Dusty Rhodes, Rock N' Roll Express, Brian Pillman, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Dean Malenko, Sting, Ultimate Warrior, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart."

How he got to ROH: "After being in NWA Wildside, Ring of Honor saw me and brought me up. By that time, TNA, ROH, and WWE were all bringing me in, but Ring of Honor always took me more serious. After being overseas for three years, I came back Ring of Honor said that they were going to be bought by SBG and said that I was at the top of the list if they're able to get more wrestlers."

How the C&C Wrestle Factory formed: "I got on a show that Cedric was on and I saw his work and said 'this kid's got it.' I would tell him about after-ring type stuff. Then we went to Ring of Honor and they asked if we knew each other and we told them yes. Then we worked on a proposal and they accepted it."

His ideal opponent if his competed at WrestleMania: "Dolph Ziggler. He's just got it. To me, he's like more of a Hennig than Axel. If they brought him in as a Hennig, I would believe it. He's like the Curt Hennig of the day, and I was a big Curt Hennig fan."

He also addressed his views about Jim Cornette, his feelings about the fans, how his faith has impacted his wrestling career, and much more. You can listen to the entire interview above.
