Upcoming Chris Benoit Biopic Gets A Director
Deadline.com reports that Vicente Amorim has signed on to direct the upcoming Chris Benoit biopic, Crossface. Amorim's past films include Dirty Hearts, Good and The Middle of the World.
"Chris Benoit's story is the perfect vehicle for a fiercely honest film that is as much about him and the world of wrestling as it is about America and show business," Amorim told Deadline. "I am very happy to be on board to help tell this story."
The film, based on the tragic double murder-suicide, was written by Sarah Coulter and is slated to begin production next year. It is expected to cover Benoit's career and the drug use, depression and head trauma that he suffered. Several WWE personalities are expected to be portrayed in the film, including Vince McMahon and Triple H. There has still be no official word on who will play Chris Benoit in the movie.
