MMA: Top Bellator Star "Ineligible" To Fight Tonight, Big UFC Heavyweight Fight Official, WSOF
- Alistair Overeem (36-13 1 NC) vs. Frank Mir (16-8) has been announced for UFC's 20th anniversary event, UFC 167, on November 16th. Both heavyweights are coming off of losses. Mir suffered a TKO defeat at the hands of Josh Barnett (33-6) at last weekend's UFC 164 event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while Overeem was knocked out by Travis Browne (15-1-1) at UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen last month.
- Joe Warren (8-3) has been deemed ineligible to compete at tonight's Bellator 98 event by the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation. Warren was scheduled to face Nick Kirk in a bantamweight tournament semi-finals bout at tonight's show. After reviewing the medical documentation submitted by Warren, the former Bellator Featherweight Champion will have his fight delayed until further notice.
- World Series of Fighting travels to Florida for the first time, as Coral Gables' BankUnited Center plays host to World Series of Fighting 6: Burkman vs. Carl on October 26. In the night's NBCSN-televised main event, resurgent veteran Josh "The People's Warrior" Burkman (26-9) meets Steve Carl (20-3) with the inaugural World Series of Fighting welterweight title on the line. In the evening's co-feature, Carson "Little Juggernaut" Beebe (14-2) and Marlon Moraes (11-4-1) clash in a bantamweight matchup that could lead to a future title shot for the winner.
