UFC News: Chael Sonnen Responds To Wanderlei Silva, Says Accosting Him "Can Be Hazardous"

Last week Wanderlei Silva reignited his feud with Chael Sonnen. The Axe Murderer sparked a conflict with Sonnen by charging him at the Olympia Fitness and Performance Expo in Las Vegas last weekend. Silva, followed by a camera, confronted Sonnen and initiated a brief confrontation. He then released the video online, with footage of the confrontation bookended by Silva delivering a direct and threatening message to Sonnen.

On UFC Tonight this week, Sonnen responded to the threats. Never at a loss for words, Sonnen invited Silva to come on the show to answer for what he believes was a publicity stunt.

"I'm all for him having a little fun," said Sonnen. "But a little advice: if you're going to do a publicity stunt, do not bring your own camera, it looks staged. It insults your audience. Accosting a gangster can be hazardous. If you want to have a conventional interview, we at UFC Tonight will pay your way to come on the show."

Sonnen and Silva have sparred verbally for years, but a bout between the two has yet to come to fruition. Currently, Sonnen is on the books to face Rashad Evans in November and Silva has no currently scheduled bout. So, if the two are to finally come face to face in the cage, it won't be until at least the early part of 2014.
