UFC News: Rising UFC Star Apologizes To Rousey & Tate, Cain Vs. JDS II Fight, Cormier Gets Bad News

- To get primed for Saturday night's heavyweight title fight rubber match between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos, check out their second meeting in its entirety above.

- According to UFC Tonight's Ariel Helwani, Daniel Cormier is in for a mixed bag this weekend. Though he's feeling great as he sheds weight in preparation to eventually fight at light heavyweight, he lost a bid to have his UFC 166 opponent Roy Nelson shave his iconic beard before their fight.

"Good news. Daniel Cormier is in amazing shape right now. He expects to weight 225 at the weigh-ins, a weight that he used to be at when he was wrestling. But the bad news, Roy Nelson will have the beard for the fight," Helwani reported. "Cormier made a complaint with the Texas commission about the beard, but they said they don't regulate things like that, so Roy is allowed to fight with it."

- UFC featherweight upstart Conor McGregor found himself in some hot water after responding to a fan's tweet recently. When asked if he would choose to spend the night with Miesha Tate or Ronda Rousey on the eve of the apocalypse, McGregor quoted explicit song lyrics in saying that he would choose both. Shortly after posting the offensive tweet, McGregor issued a formal apology.

"I would like to personally apologize to both Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate," McGregor wrote on his Facebook page. "This morning I quoted a song on Twitter in an attempt to make a joke, which I now see was totally unacceptable and offensive. I have infinite respect for Miesha and Ronda as individuals and as athletes. I have always been a big fan of women's MMA and the incredible talented athletes that compete in the sport. I regret making this offensive comment and I sincerely apologize to anyone whom I offended, but especially Ronda and Miesha."
