Last month at UFC 165, Alexander Gustafsson gave UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones the toughest fight of his life. In doing so, he also contributed to what many have called the greatest title fight in UFC light heavyweight history.

Unfortunately for The Mauler, he came up short on the judges' scorecards in a very close decision. However, even in defeat, Gustafsson came away from the fight with his stock increased. The 26-year-old Swede may not have been awarded the rematch that many believe he deserved, but he's now demonstrated the kind of skill, determination and grit that won't likely see him stray far from another title shot.
