"I think that's going to happen in the next two years," Jones said of a move to heavyweight. "I'll go up to heavyweight permanently. I'm looking to take a super fight sooner or later, within the next year."

Jones is already planning his move with an opponent in mind too, and it's not one for a tuneup fight.

"I've really been thinking about me and (UFC heavyweight champ) Cain Velasquez going at it," he said. "I think that would be huge for the sport. He's definitely the toughest guy in the division and he's not that big, so I think it would be a really entertaining fight. So don't be surprised if you see that sooner or later."

Jones is currently rehabbing an injury, but is tentatively scheduled to defend his light heavyweight belt against Glover Teixeira sometime in the first half of next year.

- It appears that UFC castoff Rousimar Palhares has found a home with the World Series of Fighting.

WSOF announced recently that the 33-year-old Brazilian has signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion and is expected to make his debut in early 2014. Palhares was released from the UFC last month for holding a submission for too long in a bout against Mike Pierce. The incident was one in a string of many and ended up being the last straw for the UFC.

Prior to his win over Pierce, Palhares had lost two in a row against Alan Belcher and Hector Lombard under the UFC banner.
