WWE Smackdown Recap: Punk And The New Age Outlaws Vs. The Shield, Langston Vs. Orton, More

This week's episode of Smackdown opens up with a video promo for the Wyatt Family. It focuses on Daniel Bryan being a member of the family now.

JBL and Michael Cole are on commentary. The Usos make their entrance.

The Usos vs. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan

Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt are absent for this match. Harper and Jimmy start off. Harper clubs him in the back and hits an uppercut. Jimmy comes back with a kick to the face. Jey tags in and lands a dropkick. Jimmy tags back in and Harper punches him in the face. Rowan tags in and clubs Jimmy in the back. He elbows Jimmy in the back of the head. Jimmy fights back and goes for a pin attempt. Rowan goes for a leg drop, but Jimmy moves and kicks him in the face. Rowan counters by slamming Jimmy to the mat. He takes Jimmy to his corner and Harper tags in. He hits Jimmy in the chest and boots him in the face. Harper lands a pair of chops. Rowan tags back in.

Rowan punches Jimmy in the stomach. He hits Jimmy with a headbutt. Jimmy fights back with strikes. He kicks Rowan in the head. Harper tags himself in. He hits Jey off the apron and lands a big boot on Jimmy as things go to commercial. Back from commercial and Harper is in control. He locks the Uso in his gator roll. He keeps the Uso's head locked in. Things continue to go back and forth until both teams start brawling on the outside. They keep fighting until the ref counts both teams out.

Double Count Out

Harper and Rowan try to keep attacking the Usos after the match, but the Usos escape up the ramp. Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt come out and attack the Usos as they're leaving. They send the Usos back in the ring. Bryan hits one of them with his running knee to the head. Bray hits the other one with Sister Abigail. Bray and Brian both get on their knees in the follow the buzzards stance.

Then, Randy Orton walks up to Vickie Guerrero backstage and asks where Triple H is. Vickie says he isn't there, and Orton is furious. He says he is going to give the authority a piece of his mind on Monday because it's what's best for Randy Orton.

Back from commercial and Miz is in the ring for MizTV. He brings up what happens between Mark Henry, Brock Lesnar, and Big Show on RAW and shows footage. He then introduces Big Show, and Show comes out with a smile on his face. They shake hands and Miz says that Show went after Lesnar and threw him across the ring like ragdoll. He asks what went through his mind, and Show says there's only so much crap a person can take. What Lesnar did to Henry was his limit. He doesn't like Lesnar and never has. He says that everyone is afraid to confront Lesnar because everyone that does ends up like Mark Henry. Lesnar doesn't seem like the baddest man on the planet to him. He challenges Lesnar to a fight.

Paul Heyman comes out on the stage. He says that Show isn't looking to see him; he wants to fight Lesnar. He calls Lesnar the ultimate fighter in the WWE. He asks Show if he wants to fight Lesnar right now in Philadelphia. The crowd gets fired up, and Heyman says Show can fight Lesnar when he says he can fight him. On behalf of Lesnar, Heyman says that Show can fight Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. He then says that if Show wants to fight Lesnar before the PPV, he won't be a hard man to find.

Back from commercial, and the WWE Network announcement at CES is recapped.

Rey Mysterio, Los Matadores, and Sin Cara vs. The Real American, Curtis Axel and Ryback

Diego and Axel start off. Axel takes control. He lands a shoulder tackle on Diego. Diego slams Axel's head into the corner. Diego lands a hurricanrana. Fernando tags in. Los Matadores double team Axel. Axel drives Fernando into his corner. Cesaro tags in. He hits Fernando with a body slam. Fernando comes back with a spring board back strike. Everyone exchanges quick tags with the faces keeping control. Mysterio and Sin Cara double team Ryback. Mysterio goes for the 619 and Ryback bails out of the ring as things go to commercial.

Back from commercial and Ryback is in control of Sin Cara. He goes for a splash and Cara moves. Cesaro tags in and hits Cara with a Gutwrench Suplex. He locks in Cara's head from behind. Swagger tags in. He slams Cara to the mat and shoves him into the corner. Cara comes back with a kick to the head from the apron. He kicks Swagger away from him, and Cesaro tags back in. Cara hits Cesaro with a tilt a whirl DDT. Mysterio and Swagger tag in. Mysterio hits a hurricanrana. Swagger backdrops him to the apron. Mysterio goes up top and lands a seated senton.

Swagger hits him with a back elbow. He goes for the Swagger bomb, and Mysterio puts his feet up. Ryback and Axel break up the pin attempt. Los Matadores send them from the ring and take them out with dives. El Torito goes up top and takes Axel out with a dive. Back in the ring, Mysterio counters out of the Patriot Lock and goes for the 619, but Swagger catches him and slams him to the mat. Cara breaks up the pin attempt. Cesaro tries to attack Cara, but Cara sends him out of the ring, falling out himself in the process. Mysterio comes back with the 619 and his splash from up top for the win.

Winners: Rey Mysterio, Los Matadores, and Sin Cara

Then, the unification match between Randy Orton and John Cena, and the feud that has been going on since then is recapped.

Then, Randy Orton comes down to the ring.

Randy Orton vs. Big E. Langston

They circle around each other. They tie up. Langston backs Orton to the corner. The ref breaks them up. They tie up again. Orton locks in a side headlock. Langston hits a shoulder tackle. They stare each other down. Orton bails outside for a breather. He gets back in. They lock up and Langston locks in a side headlock. Langston hits another shoulder tackle. Orton rolls back outside. Orton gets back in and clubs Langston in the back. He hits Langston with several punches to the face on the mat. Orton stomps on Langston's head. He hits Langston with a knee to the gut and an uppercut. Orton lands a headbutt and bounds off the ropes. Langston hits a shoulder tackle. Langston connects with shots to the gut.

Langston locks in Orton's arm. He rams Orton into the corner and drives his shoulder into his gut. Orton comes back with a knee to the head. He kicks Langston in the chest and clubs his back. Orton hits a headbutt. Langston comes back with a pair of backbreakers. Orton hits several forearms in to the face. Langston counters by charging Orton and connecting with a shoulder to the stomach in the corner. He picks Orton up on his shoulder. Orton wriggles out and slides outside for another breather as things go to commercial.

Back from commercial and Orton has Langston's head locked in. Langston fights out with elbows to the stomach, but Orton connects with a knee to the stomach. He locks Langston's head back in. Langston gets out and Orton tosses him outside. Orton follows and slams Langston's head into the steps. He slams Langston's head into the steps again and tosses him back inside for a two count. He locks Langston's head back in. Orton whips Langston into the corner and charges. Langston puts an elbow up and lands a clothesline. He hits Orton with another pair of clotheslines and a belly to belly Suplex. Langston connects with a splash.

Orton kicks out of the pin attempt and kicks Langston in the gut. Orton hits his draping DDT and signals for the RKO. Langston shoves him off and hits a body avalanche in the corner. Langston tries to follow up the attack, and Orton hits a thumb to the eye. Orton hits the RKO for the win.

Winner: Randy Orton

After the match, the Wyatt Family is shown backstage. Bray talks about fate and the Usos. Bryan starts yelling about lies, and Bray stares into the camera as things go to commercial.

Back from commercial and Fandango and Summer Rae are in the ring.

Fandango (with Summer Rae) vs. Xavier Woods (with R Truth and the Funkadactyls)

Truth gets on commentary for the match. They lock up and Woods locks in a side headlock. Woods hits a hurricanrana. Fandango hits multiple strikes. He tosses Woods out of the ring. Woods gets on the apron. Fandango approaches, and Woods rams his shoulder into his gut. Woods launches into the ring and pins Fandango quickly for the win.

Winner: Xavier Woods

After the match, Summer yells at Woods. The Funkadactyls slam her to the mat. Fandango attacks Woods. Truth gets in the ring and stops Fandango. Truth and Woods double team Fandango.

Then, Tom Phillips is backstage with the Usos. He asks them for their thoughts on what the Wyatts did earlier. One of the Usos cuts an impassioned promo about how their backs are against the wall, but they're going to fight back on RAW and bring the pain.

Back from commercial and the RAW Rebound is shown. It focuses on the appearances involving the legends on RAW.

Then, the Shield comes out for their match. Roman Reigns grabs the mic and talks briefly about the legends that were on old school RAW. He says that with all those legends in the house, the only thing that mattered was him pinning CM Punk and becoming the new best in the world.

Ambrose picks up the mic and says he hates snakes and they should be illegal in this country. He says if the snake was here right now, he would choke it out in the middle of the ring.

Rollins takes up the mic and says that was Monday, and this is now. Tonight focuses on the future of the WWE and that future doesn't involve the New Age Outlaws. They will put them out of their misery, and break CM Punk. They are going to prove that they're the future of the company and that no one can stop them. Believe in the Shield.

The Outlaws come out for their entrance as things go to commercial.

CM Punk and The New Age Outlaws vs. The Shield

Punk and Ambrose start off. They tie up and Punk backs Ambrose to the corner. The ref breaks them up. They lock up again, and Ambrose takes Punk to the mat. Punk reverses into a head scissors. Ambrose gets out, and Punk takes him back to the mat. James tags in. He rams his shoulder into Ambrose's gut. Gunn tags in. He goes to work on Ambrose's arm. Ambrose gets out and tags in Rollins. Gunn lands an arm drag and locks in Rollins's arm. James tags back in and kicks Rollins in the chest. He works on Rollins's arm as well. Punk tags in. He drops an elbow on Rollins's arm. Rollins fights back with a right hand to the face. Ambrose tags in, and Punk drop toe holds him. Ambrose backs Punk into the corner and hits right hands to the head. He drags Punk's face across the top rope. Punk goes for a kick, and Ambrose ducks it and slides out of the ring.

Rollins and Reigns try and get involved. Punk rolls between them and the Outlaws hit strikes to the head. They send Rollins and Reigns out of the ring as things go to commercial. Back from commercial and Ambrose is in control of James. He whips James. James hits head shots. Rollins tags himself in. He hits James with a flying knee to the head. Reigns tags in. He kicks James in the corner. Ambrose tags in. He stomps James in the chest. Ambrose lands a big right hand to the side of the head. He hits James with several more strikes. Rollins tags in and hits a dropkick. He locks in James's head from behind. James gets to his feet and fights out via elbows to the mid section. Rollins slams James face first into the turnbuckle.

Rollins stomps James repeatedly. Ambrose tags in and lands forearms to the face. He stomps on James's fingers and rams his shoulder into his gut in the corner. Reigns tags in and locks in James's head. Reigns whips James, and James counters with a DDT. Rollins tags in and hits Gunn off the apron. James backdrops Rollins. Punk and Ambrose tag in. Punk has the hot tag. He hits Ambrose with his swinging neckbreaker and corner high knee. Punk lands a crossbody and picks Ambrose up for the GTS. Ambrose gets out and tries to hit the headlock driver. Punk gets out, and they both go for a crossbody at the same time.

Gunn and Reigns tag in. Gunn takes it to Reigns. Ambrose and Rollins try and get involved, and Punk and James stop them. Punk ends up taking out Rollins on the outside with a dive. Gunn goes for the famouser on Ambrose, and Reigns spears him in mid air for the win.
