Big UFC Fight Off, Overeem Ducking JDS?, Dana White Says He's Done With Top Contender

- The UFC officially announced this evening that the Rashad Evans – Daniel Cormier co-main event for UFC 170 on February 22 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas has been canceled. A leg injury has forced Evans to withdraw from the bout and with the event being a little over a week away, no replacement bout will be made. Yahoo! Sports noted that while they do not have details on Evans' injury, he will need four weeks of rehabilitation and company officials are looking to add the fight to the UFC 172 card on April 26th.

- It was reported on UFC Tonight that UFC President Dana White offered Alistair Overeem a five-round main event fight against Junior dos Santos in Brazil, which he turned down. He then offered Overeem a three-round co-main event in Las Vegas, which he also declined. According to White, Overeem "wants nothing to do with dos Santos and he's hiding from him."

- Ariel Helwani also reported on UFC Tonight that negotiations for a new contract for top lightweight contender Gilbert Melendez are not going well. Dana White apparently said said that "he's done with Gilbert," and that while he likes Gilbert, he doesn't like his manager, who is also the same manager for Georges St-Pierre.

"Being GSP's best friend doesn't make you a good manager," White said. While also noted that if Gilbert does want to remain in the UFC, he should call Lorenzo Fertitta "quickly" or start looking to fight elsewhere.
