News On Sting's Next Appearance, Possible Sign That He Has Not Signed With WWE
We noted back in November that WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair would be appearing at a pair of Revolution Pro Wrestling events in the U.K. on March 14, 2014 and March 15, 2014, respectively.
With Flair's new WWE contract, the company has the right to override any outside project that Flair has and will commit to. Promoters confirmed last night that Ric Flair will not be attending the Revolution Pro Wrestling events citing "personal reasons."
The company also announced that Sting will be replacing Flair at both shows. The first event on Friday, March 14th, which is sold out, will be a Q&A with Sting. Sting will then appear at High Stakes 2014 the following night, which will be headlined by Colt Cabana defending the Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship against 'Party' Marty Scurll. Details and ticket information for both shows are at this link.
While nothing is official, it is interesting that Flair would cancel the booking and Sting would accept just two weeks before WrestleMania XXX, which would seemingly indicate that Sting has not signed with WWE.
