UFC Announces Change To Bonuses, More On Fighter's Failed Drug Test, UFC 169 Highlights

- The UFC announced today a change to the performance bonus structure effective from here on out. The promotion will still hand out Fight of the Night bonuses to the two fighters involved in the best fight of the evening, but will no longer be awarding Submission or Knockout of the Night bonuses. Instead, there will be two Performance of the Night bonuses given out to the fighters who "put on the best and most exciting individual performances." The fight night bonuses will still be in the amount of $50,000 apiece.

- UFC women's bantamweight Jessica Eye recently found herself in hot water after making false statements in relation to her failed drug test from UFC 166 in Houston. Things might be looking up for the 27-year-old though, as it appears she's on track to get licensed for her UFC 170 bout with Alexis Davis by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Eye, who must comply with the terms of the probated suspension she received from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for her failed test, submitted a clean urine sample to the NSAC. MMAJunkie recently spoke with NSAC chair Francisco Aguilar, who revealed that Eye is so far checking the boxes in terms of her suspension from the TDLR and is on target to be licensed; the NSAC will review her test again before officially licensing the fighter. Eye had her split decision win over Sarah Kaufman overturned to a No Contest after testing positive for marijuana. Eye got herself in trouble by saying publicly that she failed the test for blood thinners, just before it was revealed that she failed for marijuana.
