AJ Styles Talks Turning Down WWE In 2002, Styles Seminar This Weekend, Styles Vs. Fox, Nash
- AJ Styles will face CZW / Dragon Gate USA Superstar AR Fox at The Ultimate Wrestling Experience's event at Sports City in Harrisburg, PA this Saturday, March 15th. In the video above, Styles sends a message to Fox about being "The King of the Indys". Kevin Nash and So Cal Val also scheduled to appear at the show. Sonjay Dutt was originally booked for the show, but will no longer be appearing and a surprise replacement has been found that will be revealed on the day of the show. - Styles will also be holding an in ring seminar with 2CW this Friday at 4pm in Binghamton, NY, prior to the 2CW show later that night. The seminar will be 2-3 hours long and is open to wrestlers of all skill levels. The seminar will cost $60.00 USD (plus PayPal fees) and will also include a General Admission ticket to that night's show. Fans can watch the seminar for $25.00, however that does not include admission into that evening's event. At that evening's event, Styles will face Kevin Steen while 2CW Champion Isys Ephex will defend his title against "Slyck" Wagner Brown. - The Temple News has an interview with Styles at this link, who discussed being a free agent. He also talked about turning down a WWE developmental deal for $500 a week in 2002 at Heartland Wrestling Association in Cincinnati, one of their farm leagues.
"My wife was in college and I couldn't go to Ohio and make her move back in with her mother," Styles said. "That would have been terrible. She even told me to take the deal and run with the opportunity, but I couldn't do that to her. It's God first and family second."
