Judge Dismisses Lawsuit From Independent Wrestler Against WWE & Many WWE Employees
- On Thursday, a judge in Tampa, Florida dismissed a lawsuit against WWE and several other defendands by wrestler Brian Jack over injuries he allegedly suffered in a WWE developmental ring back in 2009. It was dismissed for Jack's failure to serve any of the defendants in a timely manner.
Jack named WWE, Steve Keirn, Steve Keirn Inc. aka Florida Championship Wrestling, NXT, and additional John and Jane Does to be named in September 2013. On March 21st of this year, he filed an updated lawsuit that included Kristin Altman, Scott Amann, James Andrews, Ty Bailey, Richard Blood (Ricky Steamboat), Gerald Brisco, Anthony Carelli (Santino Marella), Pierre Clermont, Pete Gruner (Billy Kidman), John Laurinaitis, Vince McMahon, NXT Wrestling, David Otunga, Tom Prichard, Robert Remus (Sgt. Slaughter), Virgil Runnels (Dusty Rhodes) and Norman Smiley.
Jack filed a motion to extend the time needed to serve the defendants on March 25th but was refused by the court. He received an extension to serve defendants back in January after initially filing the lawsuit in September 2013, which was the third time this suit in some form had been filed.
