Antony Johnson Thanks Dana White For Turning Him Into A Beast

After a two plus year hiatus from the UFC, Antony Johnson returned in a big way at UFC 172. A much heavier Johnson out powered the top ranked Phil Davis for a decision victory.

"This was a long road coming," said Johnson post-fight. "I trained really hard. Since I left, I've matured so much. That's the man [Dana White] who changed me. He made me turn into a beast."

Johnson bloodied Davis in the first round and "Rumble" never let up or showed signs of fatigue.

In 2006, Johnson joined the UFC as a welterweight. Though he had his fair share of wins, cutting weight was often a problem and led to his eventual release. He would need to win six straight fights, with three out of the World Series of Fighting, before the UFC would call.

Davis was ranked number four in the light heavyweight division before the recent defeat. He drops to 12-2, with the other loss coming from Johnson's teammate Rashad Evans.

The two were the co-main event of UFC 172, which came from the Baltimore Arena in Maryland. For complete results, click here.
