ESPN Host Wrongfully Blasts CM Punk For Ultimate Warrior Remark, NFL - WWE, Jericho & Edge Note
- ESPN host Colin Cowherd, who recently stated that The Ultimate Warrior's passing wasn't that surprising considering the lifestyle of a pro wrestler, wrongfully blasted CM Punk on his radio program today. Cowherd took Punk to task over a tweet stating that Warrior's death was not the result of drug abuse. The only problem is that the tweet he referenced was from a fan parody account, and not from @CMPunk, which was been dormant since last January.
- Former NFL star Shawne Merriman, who recently signed a deal with WWE, did a feature on NFL.com with Adam Rank of the top 5 football stars turned wrestlers. Steve Austin, who played college football, topped the list. The Rock was in second place, followed by Goldberg, Ernie Ladd and Bronko Nagurski. Merriman and Rank also discussed which current NFL players should go to WWE, you can watch the whole piece here.
- As noted earlier, Edge and Chris Jericho were at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last night in Brooklyn. You can check out a picture of the former WWE Superstars together below:
