WWE Possibly Losing Major Tax Incentives In North Carolina, WWE Spokeswoman Responds

- WWE could be losing major tax breaks in North Carolina for TV and film productions. The program as it is now that offers tax breaks to studios filming in North Carolina could be ending later this year, according to The Charlotte Observer. The new draft of the program would eliminate breaks for late-night shows, reality TV shows and pro wrestling.

WWE's TV tapings in 2010 and 2011 claimed more than $570,000 in tax credits.

WWE spokeswoman Tara Carraro told The Charlotte Observer that WWE would still come to North Carolina if the incentives go away. She wrote in an e-mail:

"WWE applies for applicable film and tax credits offered by any state where we do business just like many other production companies do."
