Impact Wrestling Review: Thumbs Up Or Down On The New Faction?

After a couple of months opposing Dixie Carter, playing the babyface role in the power struggle over control of operations, MVP turned heel against world champion Eric Young. His reasoning is due to his desire in becoming champion, not feeling that wearing suits and taking the executive role can truly give him that money, power and respect that he earns. Eric Young was just a pawn in his game, and the past couple of episodes MVP has proven this to be true.

To up the ante, MVP acquired two more people to assist him in his quest to become champion at Slammiversary. On the past episode of Impact, former X Division Champion Kenny King came to MVP's aid and attacked Eric Young during their match. Then, here comes Bobby Lashley. To fulfill the hard camera's dream, Lashley pretended that he was out to even the playing field. Instead, he speared Young, and cemented his heel turn as a member of this new alliance.

Now, does this help Impact Wrestling in any way? The idea of Eric Young being a fighting champion is a great idea, but is MVP truly the ideal opponent at Slammiversary? It seems a bit desperate to me. Understandably, MVP wanted more of a wrestling role than an executive role. The Director of Operations position was a good way to insert himself in the TNA fabric. However, Being the top heel, and having a couple of cronies to make him look like a more dominant one, may not be the direction that TNA wants to go. Especially since roster members are dropping like flies now.

The short Eric Young/Bobby Roode feud could have easily been extended to Slammiversary, and their matches proved that they could create magic. Now, Roode is "indefinitely suspended," which seems like doublespeak for "Sorry, we just don't have enough in the budget for you right now."

So what do you think? Is MVP's heel turn and his new found faction a positive step for TNA? Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down? Sound off below.
