Impact Wrestling Review: What Is Your Current Grade Of Eric Young's Title Reign?
On this week's episode of Impact Wrestling, TNA had a mini-tournament to determine the No.1 contender for Eric Young's world heavyweight championship. The tourney involved two former world champions Mr. Anderson and Bobby Roode, along with Gunner. The main event pitted Eric Young against the winner of the tournament, Bobby Roode. In a hard-fought match, Young retained the title. The match earned so much respect for the former tag team champions that it ended with a handshake.
Since he won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, Eric Young has proven to be a fighting champion. Previously on Impact, he competed in a Monster's Ball match against Abyss, fresh out of winning the title. Young has said many times that he wants to represent the title right in fighting for the people, and his title defenses has proven that thus far.
Many people was not sold on the idea of having Eric Young as world champ. They felt as if his character was too much of a comedic role to ever successfully represent the world title. Moreover, many felt as if the push was so sudden and underdeveloped, that it was more of a negative than a positive that he won the title in such a surprising fashion.
The question is to the naysayers – do you still feel that way? Has Eric Young proven to be a credible champion?
And to everyone – what grade would you give Eric Young's TNA World Heavyweight Championship reign so far? Sound off below.
