Dana White On Scott Coker Replacing Bjorn Rebney, Anderson Silva Update, Chael Sonnen In Action

- UFC president Dana White made a rare appearance on a network not named ESPN or FOX Sports 1 Friday night, stopping by the "Inside MMA" studio on AXS TV to discuss all things MMA. As only he can, White was open to talking about all matters, including the decision by Bellator to replace Bjorn Rebney with Scott Coker.

"Not only do I know Scott very well, I know the guys at Spike very well," White said. "I was in business with them for a long time and I think this is a much better fit for them."

White also talked about his own champions – Jon Jones and Jose Aldo – in the interview, which you can view in the player above.

- A doctor in Brazil with the athletic commission has cleared former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva for a return to sparring. This signals yet another step forward for "The Spider" to make his return to the Octagon.

Last December, Silva suffered a broken leg when Chris Weidman checked a kick in their world title fight. Silva has undergone extensive surgery and rehab to get back to action, targeting a return early next year.

"Then guys good news today and my first after sparring MMA leg fracture," Silva wrote on Instagram.

As for an opponent, former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz has been rumored, along with a handful of other possible options for Silva.

- Chael Sonnen's retirement from MMA does not mean he is leaving combat sports completely. Sonnen will face Andre Galvao this August in a grappling match as the main event of Metamoris 4 from Los Angeles.

Sonnen, a highly-decorated wrestler in both college and on the amateur scene, was a three-time UFC title contender. He announced his retirement recently following a failed drug test. Galvao has fought seven times inside the cage, going 5-2, but is more known for his accomplishments outside of it.

Josh Barnett is also expected to compete on the card, which takes place August 9. Both fights were recently reported by MMAFighting.com.
