Indy INC: Wyatt Retains MPW Title, McClane Wins Gold, Major Legal Trouble For Indy Worker, More
Metro Pro Wrestling fans were treated to a barnburner of a contest on June 14 when Ace Steel challenged Jeremy Wyatt for the MPW title. Over 300 fans packed the Turner Rec Center in Kansas City, Kansas for the return of MPW and the show included a special preview of the forthcoming documentary film Wrestless.
Steel?who trained the likes of CM Punk and Colt Cabana and wrestled stints in Ring of Honor, TNA and WWE?gave his best effort in the bout but he proved unable to put away Wyatt. The champ ultimately forced Steel to tap out with a variation of the crossface and retained his title. He later discussed his win with WrestlingINC.com: "It was a pretty hyped up match with lots of interesting variables," explained Wyatt. "It was the first-ever match up between us, but more importantly, it was the first Metro Pro show in a little over 10 months. Those things, combined with a packed house, made for an unbelievable atmosphere. The match was everything I expected, and more. Ace Steel is as legit as they come. Everyone knows who he's trained but he's also made quite the mark for himself in the ring. He's a guy who's been all around the world and beaten the best of the best. As far as future encounters between us, only time will tell. I would welcome the challenge. You can only better yourself by facing guys who test you and Ace is a real test."

Don't expect an angstrom of modesty from Tom McClane, who snagged some major heavyweight gold on June 21 when he won the Main Even Wrestling title at MEW's show in Sidney, Ohio. Shortly after his win, the gregarious grappler summed up his unbridled enthusiasm in some comments to WrestlingINC.com: "Tonight, by securing the Main Event Wrestling Heavyweight Championship of the Universe with my 'Summer's Eve Stretch,' I proved, once again, that 'Die Hard' Tom McClane and his '#douchemovement' are the greatest thing going in professional wrestling today." Wow?We couldn't have said it better, champ. Not that we'd even try, mind you?
