Next UFC Hall Of Fame Inductee Revealed, Countdown To UFC 175 Video, GSP In News
- In the video above, see the segment from "Countdown to UFC 175" featuring main event fighters Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida. The two will compete for Weidman's middleweight title this Saturday night at UFC 175 from Las Vegas, live and on pay-per-view. Wrestling Inc. will be providing complete coverage from the event.
Weidman (11-0) is seeking a second successful title defense, as he defeated Anderson Silva last December. Machida (21-4) is a former UFC light heavyweight champion, coming off back-to-back wins at 185 pounds over Mark Munoz and Gegard Mousasi.
- The UFC Hall of Fame will grow by one this weekend, as Pat Miletich has been announced as the latest member to the exclusive club. Miletich wore the what would become the UFC welterweight title, winning the belt in 1998 over Mikey Burnett.
During his run in MMA, the Iowa-born Miletich went 29-7-2, including 15 consecutive wins to start his career. He founded the Miletich Fighting Systems, which helped the likes of Matt Hughes, Tim Sylvia, Jens Pulver and Robbie Lawler to successful careers.
Miletich will be inducted on Sunday during the UFC Fan Expo at International Fight Week in Las Vegas.
- Georges St-Pierre, the former UFC welterweight champion, issued a letter via Twitter explaining a recent controversial report stating his support for Jimmy Cournoyer. In the report released last week, GSP was in support of Cournoyer, who he became friends with several years ago. Cournoyer is on trial for drug trafficking and is known as the "King of Pot."
In the letter, which you can view below, St-Pierre explains what happened and how he became friends with Cournoyer.
