Kurt Angle Talks CM Punk Leaving WWE, Punk Being Negative On Part Timers

Kurt Angle was the most recent guest on Jim Ross' "Ross Report" podcast, and the two spoke about CM Punk, who is becoming one of the hottest topics in pro wrestling today. Listen to the show here.

The TNA star, who has been flirting with a WWE comeback as of late, respected Punk's decision to walk away, and gave his opinion on why he thinks the Chicago-based wrestler left the business.

Jim Ross disagrees with the observers who feel like Punk owes the fans some sort of farewell, and Angle joined him in that regard.

"I didn't know that he was that banged up," Angle admitted. "I have to respect the fact that he walked away, whether he comes back or not. The rumor was that he was upset with the booking, and he's upset with these part-timers coming in, and taking the main spots at WrestleMania."

Angle wanted to contact Punk and tell him as a full-timer, that sort of stuff wasn't going to happen forever. He said there was going to be a time where Punk would have wanted to go part-time, too. He also stated there would be many opportunities for Punk to headline WrestleMania as a part-time worker down the road.

Although, Angle said if the main reason behind Punk's departure was because of his injuries piling up, the Olympic gold medalist said he couldn't have respected him more for the decision.
