WWE Smackdown Recap With Video: Ambrose Vs. Randy Orton, Sheamus Vs. Alberto Del Rio, More

The show opens with a recap of the opening to RAW where Stephanie McMahon announces the cover athlete for "WWE 2K14." Then, Seth Rollins comes down to the ring. He said on RAW he nearly cashed in on John Cena. He has a message for John. He got lucky on RAW, but the clock is still ticking. He was flat on his back in the center of the ring. That doesn't bode well for him because on a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone is low. He will cash in before long. He tells the crowd to get used to it, because before long he'll be the new face of the WWE.

Dean Ambrose comes out. Ambrose says Rollins is delusional. He will never let Rollins get near the titles, it doesn't matter what he plans. He will always be there. He asks how last Monday went, and then footage of Rollins trying to cash in is shown.

Ambrose tells him to watch the footage over and over again, because that's his life for the next year. The briefcase is a curse, because it's an excuse to ruin his life and face. Rollins asks if he thinks he cares. He knows Ambrose better than anyone, and he knows Ambrose can't keep it for a year. He can't stop him from cashing in.

Ambrose says of course he can, and runs down to the ring. He attacks Rollins. Randy Orton runs out, and he and Rollins beat down Ambrose. Roman Reigns comes out. He attacks Orton and Rollins. They fight Rollins and Orton out of the ring.

Triple H's music hits, and he comes out on the stage. Triple says Reigns and Ambrose have made their point. Now, he will make his. Ambrose has to face Orton later, and if Reigns interferes he's out of the Battleground main event.

Back from commercial and Sheamus makes his entrance.

US Championship
Sheamus (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio

They lock up briefly. They exchange strikes. Sheamus takes Del Rio to the corner and hits several kicks. Del Rio hits a snapmare and a kick to the back of the head. He mounts Sheamus in the corner and hits several strikes. Sheamus comes back with a rolling senton. He drops a knee on Del Rio's head. Sheamus hits an uppercut. Del Rio comes back with a clothesline. He kicks Sheamus in the face. Del Rio hangs Sheamus's head over the apron and kicks it. Sheamus tosses Del Rio into the barrier. Del Rio tosses Sheamus into the steel steps. Del Rio sends Sheamus onto the apron and hits a backstabber.

Back from commercial and Sheamus collides with Del Rio, sending both of them outside. They get back inside and exchanges shots to the head. Sheamus hits a backbreaker. He tries for white noise, but Del Rio fights free. He hits Sheamus with a DDT. Del Rio hits multiple shots to the head. He goes up top. Sheamus hits him and climbs up as well. Del Rio hits him to the apron. Sheamus climbs up behind Del Rio and clubs him in the chest 10 times. He shoves Del Rio off.

Sheamus leaps off and hits a shoulder tackle. He signals for the brogue kick. Del Rio ducks it and locks in the cross armbreaker. Sheamus counters into the cloverleaf. Del Rio gets to the ropes. Del Rio kicks Sheamus in the stomach and locks the cross armbreaker back in. Sheamus stands up and tosses Del Rio into the turnbuckle. Sheamus charges, and Del Rio moves. Del Rio hits a Superkick. Del Rio goes up top and flips off, but Sheamus moves. Sheamus hits the brogue kick for the win.

Winner and still champion: Sheamus

Back from commercial and Stardust and Goldust cut a promo about names.

Then, Roman Reigns is backstage with Byron Saxton. He asks about the main event, and Reigns says he knows Ambrose will be fine. He isn't going to jeopardize his match at Battleground. He will become champion at the PPV.

Then, Michael Cole's interview with Daniel Bryan at Money in the Bank is shown. Afterwards, Bo Dallas comes out and talks about Daniel Bryan as he's making his entrance. He's going to win the Intercontinental championship at Battleground for little Daniel.

Bo Dallas vs. Diego (with El Torito)

Diego hits a dropkick. Dallas kicks Diego in the corner and hits a clothesline. Dallas whips Diego into the corner and charges. Diego puts his boots up. He goes up top and collides with Bo. Diego slams Bo's head into the corner. Bo comes back by tossing Diego into the turnbuckle. He hits the Bo-dog on Diego for the win.

Winner: Bo Dallas

Bo picks up the mic. He says that El Torito is a bovine. If he wants to grow taller, he just has to Bolieve. Torito gores him in the butt. Bo yells at him and calls him a bad boy. Torito does his butt wiggle thing, and Bo body slams him.

Then, the segment from RAW where Miz and Chris Jericho return is shown. Back from commercial and Chris Jericho makes his entrance.

He takes up the mic and says it feels good to be back on Smackdown. He fooled everyone on RAW, and that felt good too. Then, along came a spider, a big, dark, venomous family and its family. He knows that since he's been gone, the Wyatt Family has become one of the most dominant forces in WWE history. He knew when they surrounded him it wouldn't feel good. Because of that, he has one thing to say to them. Thank you.

He wants to thank them for reminding him that the WWE isn't all about lighted jackets, and surprise entrants, and Y2J chants. It's about survival. The ring is dangerous, but he can be dangerous too. He doesn't look, think, or act like anyone else. It's why he's the best in the world at what he does. Bray can do whatever he wants to do, but if he wants to get crazy, he can get crazy. If he wants to get nuts, he can get nuts. When he does, Bray will never be the same again, and that's a promise.

Bray appears on the screen. He says that the world has no voice. It can't say what it needs, but it's yearning for someone to point it in the right direction. He says he hasn't had a chance to introduce himself, and he has a million names. He is the colorant in the world of black and white. Jericho better not get too close. He tells Jericho to save himself, and the screen goes black.

Jericho says he wants to get close. He calls the Wyatt Family down to the ring. The Miz's music hits, and he walks out.

He asks Jericho how it feels to be interrupted. He deprived everyone of the return of the Miz last week. It's a shame what happened with the Wyatts and he could have helped him, but Jericho broke the golden rule. He tried to hurt his moneymaker. Jericho got lucky, because if anything happened to his face, it would cost the WWE. Miz gets in the ring, and Jericho hits him with the Codebreaker while he is talking.

Back from commercial and Big E makes his entrance.

Big E vs. Cesaro

Cesaro hits an immediate big boot. He tosses E out of the ring and slings him into the barrier. Cesaro rams E into the barrier. E whips Cesaro into the barrier and clotheslines him. He tosses Cesaro into the timekeeper area. Cesaro picks up a chair and hits Cesaro. Cesaro tosses E out of the timekeeper area and then tosses an office chair at him. He throws E over the announce table. Cesaro sends E into the steel steps. Cesaro tries to ram E into the turnbuckle, but E stops him and belly-to-belly suplexes him. E takes his singlet straps off, and Paul Heyman pulls Cesaro up the ramp as a bunch of refs hold E back.

Then, AJ Lee is shown skipping backstage as things go to commercial.

Back from commercial, and Eva Marie is waiting in the ring. Paige is on commentary.

AJ Lee vs. Eva Marie

Eva slaps AJ and shoves her to the mat. Lee chases Eva to the ropes. Eva kicks AJ and tosses her outside. Paige and AJ stare each other down. AJ gets back in the ring. Eva slams her head into the turnbuckle. She clotheslines Lee. Lee comes back with a sleeper. Eva backs AJ into the corner and switches her to side slam position, but Lee rotates around and locks in the black widow. Eva taps.

Winner AJ Lee

Paige gets in the ring and claps for AJ. She exits the ring and walks up the ramp.

Back from commercial and Damien Sandow is in the ring dressed like Bruce Springsteen. He has a guitar around his neck. He asks if anybody is alive in the crowd. Rusev interrupts him and walks down to the ring, waving his flag around.

Sandow immediately attacks Rusev as soon as he gets in the ring, but Rusev shoves him and hits a Superkick. He tosses Sandow to the outside. Lana takes up the mic and tells everyone to shut up. She says that to celebrate America's birth, people shoot fireworks to boost the spirit of their pointless lives. The only impressive thing people do on July 4th is show the world how fat they get.

Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter interrupt them and come down to the ring. Colter says there are two types of people he hates: illegal immigrants and ungrateful immigrants, and they probably fit both categories. He is going to give them a test about Russia. He asks who invented the Internet? It wasn't a Russian. Who invented the automobile? It wasn't a Russian. Who put the first man on the moon? It wasn't a Russian. The only thing that Russia invented that was worth a crap was vodka.

Lana yells at him to shut up and calls him an American swine. The Real Americans get in the ring. Colter tells her not to tell him to shut up, and suggests she shut up instead. He didn't come here to chat with her. He came here to get something straight, and they can do it tonight. Yes or no. He leads the we the people chant. Lana and Rusev back out of the ring as Swagger and Rusev stare each other down.

Back from commercial and Randy Orton makes his entrance. Seth Rollins is on commentary.

Randy Orton vs. Dean Ambrose

They go back and forth with strikes and kicks. Ambrose slams Orton's head into the turnbuckle. Orton attacks Ambrose's taped up shoulder. He rolls to the outside and stares at Ambrose. Orton gets back inside, and Ambrose knees him in the stomach. He slaps Orton in the chest. Ambrose tries for a suplex, but Orton counters into a dropkick. He locks in Ambrose's arm. Ambrose counters out and takes Orton down. He stomps Orton in the stomach and locks him in a submission. Ambrose stomps on Orton's fingers. Orton pulls Ambrose back into the turnbuckle.

Orton snaps Ambrose's arm across the top rope. He locks in Ambrose's arm again. Ambrose fights out with elbows to the head. He hits Orton with a crossbody. Orton kicks Ambrose in the head. Ambrose tries for a clothesline, but Orton boots him out of the ring as things go to commercial.

Back from commercial and Orton is in control. He is working on Ambrose's arm. Orton charges Ambrose, but Ambrose puts his boot up. Ambrose goes up top. He tries for a missile dropkick, but Orton moves. He tosses Ambrose shoulder-first into the turnbuckle. Orton strikes Ambrose's shoulder and kicks it. Ambrose falls out of the ring. He pulls Ambrose's shoulder into the turnbuckle and drops him onto the barrier. Orton shoves Ambrose into the ring and goes for the cover.

Orton locks Ambrose's arm back in. Ambrose fights free, but Orton knees him in the stomach. Ambrose tosses Orton into the ring post. They exchange headshots. Ambrose hits a headbutt. He hits Orton with a pair of forearms. Ambrose goes up top and collides with Orton. He clotheslines Orton to the outside and takes him out with a dive. Ambrose drives Orton into the barrier and sends him inside.

Ambrose leaps at Rollins and hits him with multiple shots to the head. He tosses Rollins into the barrier. Ambrose turns attention back to Orton and snaps his head across the top rope. He rolls Orton up and gets a two count. Ambrose clotheslines Orton. He goes for dirty deeds, but Orton counters into a powerslam. Orton goes for his draping DDT, but Ambrose backdrops him to the outside. Ambrose goes for a dive, and Rollins hits him with his MITB briefcase.

Winner via DQ: Dean Ambrose

Rollins tosses Ambrose inside. Orton RKOs him. He pulls off Ambrose's shoulder tape. Orton locks in Ambrose's arm. Rollins goes up top to leap off and attack him. Reigns runs out and shoves Rollins off. Reigns hits Orton with the Superman punch. He signals for the spear, but Rollins pulls Orton out of the ring and they escape up the ramp to end the show.
