Jon Jones "Slap Boxes" Mike Tyson, UFC PPV Loses Fight, Former Champ Tries Ice Bucket Challenge
- Forget about all the talk of Floyd Mayweather vs. Ronda Rousey. Sunday night after SummerSlam, we received UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones going up against the legendary Mike Tyson.
Jones and Tyson playfully "slap boxed" each other, which "Bones" caught on film and you can view in the video above. Jones recently underwent surgery to repair his knee, forcing a planned title defense vs. Daniel Cormier back to January.
- The hits continue to pile up for UFC 177, as the pay-per-view card lost another main card bout on Monday. Heavyweights Richard Odoms and Ruslan Magomedov will no longer square off on August 30 from Sacramento and the Sleep Train Arena after an injury to Odoms.
Officials moved a prelim bout between Yancy Medeiros and Justin Edwards to the opening fight for the pay-per-view. The card features bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw against Renan Barao. It lost a co-main between flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson and Chris Cariaso earlier this month.
- Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar decided to get involved in the latest craze, taking part in the "Ice Bucket Challenge" for ALS. However, "The Answer" did not receive a perfectly-executed dump of cold water over his body.
Check out Edgar allowing his sons to perform the challenge on him, and why he likely will never make the same mistake again, in the video below:
