TNA Impact Wrestling Results: Dixie Carter Goes Through A Table, Title Change, More
Welcome to WrestlingINC.com's live coverage and results for TNA Impact Wrestling. Tonight's show was taped in New York City, where the price of a slice of pizza and the cost of a single ride on the subway has been nearly equal for the past 50 years (according to the Internet, anyway.)
Please spread word of our viewing party and complete results via Facebook and Twitter. If you can find your dad's old woodburning kit (go up to the attic and look in his steamer trunk), gather up a bunch of scraps of wood from the dumpster outside of an old construction site and make a bunch of kitschy beverage coasters with the inscription: "Follow WrestlingINC.com's coverage of Impact Wrestling every Thursday night!" and then sell them at your local flea market or give them away to your friends and family as holiday gifts.
On this date in wrestling history in 1976, Bruno Sammartino defeated Stan Hansen in a steel cage match at a WWWF event in Madison Square Garden. That match was one for the ages, for sure but tonight's show promises a big payoff of its own and if TNA has done it right, we'll be talking about it for a while to come. #ItHappens
Tonight's show opens with an unusual cautionary note to parents regarding the "strong nature" of the episode. Then there's a pre-show segment in which Bully goes into graphic detail about what he's going to do to the Carter clan. Recaps ensue and then we're live on tape from the Manhattan Center.
Monster's Ball: Abyss vs. Bram
The red lights and music signal the arrival of Abyss for his "Monster's Ball" match with Bram. Bram makes his entrance next and as Izzy Mandelbaum might say, "It's go time." Fans are chanting "E-C-Dub!" from the opening bell. Both guys break out a veritable arsenal of weapons, including chairs, trash cans and a barbed-wire board. Someone is going to hit that thing and it'll be gross. It's a pretty even matchup with regard to strength and size, so Bram resorts to kicking Abyss in the jewels to get him down but Abyss responds quickly by raking a cheese grater across Bram's privates. Yes, really. Abyss stays on top long enough to pull Janice out from under the ring and be tries to hit Bram in the face with her but misses and gets her stuck in the turnbuckle padding. Abyss gets a Crown Royal-sized bag of thumbtacks out and dumps them and the fans chant "We want blood!" Bram slugs Abyss a few times with a kendo stick and Abyss teases a chokeslam but Bram escapes. It's only a momentary reprieve, though, as Bram eats a chokeslam and ends up with a back full of tacks. As Bram is down, Abyss goes for Janice again but Magnus emerges and takes the nail-covered plank away and Abyss repays him with a punch to the face. Bram capitalizes on the distraction and propels Abyss into the barbed-wire covered board which becomes embedded in the monster's back. Bram grabs Janice, slugs Abyss in the stomach with her and gets the pin. Phew, that was a nasty affair!
Result: Bram defeats Abyss via pinfall.
The guys plug the three-way X-Division match for later and Samoa Joe cuts a promo with Low Ki. Time for the first break.
Back from the break, Team Dixie provides a hi-octane promo led by EC3. Then we're back at the ring area to welcome TNA champion Bobby Lashley, along with Kenny King and MVP. MVP says that Lashley will hold the TNA title "for years to come" and the fans respond with a chorus of boos. Bobby Roode's music interrupts MVP's tirade and Tenay puts him over as being the person to have the longest title reign in TNA history. Roode says that some of the things MVP has been saying are true, referring specifically to Lashley's rep as "a destoyer." Roode gives Lashley some props and then eventually issues a challenge for the title. He is answered with a beatdown from King and MVP which is broken up by Austin Aries and Eric Young. MVP's group retreats and we shift to a backstage vignette? Gunner and Shaw are hanging out, Anderson tries to get a private word with Gunner which is followed by a vague argument about "trust." Then, a commercial happens.
After TNA pays some bills, we get another backstage segment with Team Bully in which Bully plays up their "mystery partner" for later tonight.
BroMans and DJ Z vs. Mr. Anderson, Gunner and Samuel Shaw
In the ring, the BroMans and DJ Z are ready for action. Mr. Anderson announces himself, his teammate Gunner and Samuel Shaw, a.k.a. "this freakin' guy." After the bell, Anderson and Jessie get busy and Anderson gets a leg up quickly. He tags in Gunner who continues to dominate Godderz. Jessie eventually tags in Robbie E who can't quite hang with the military man. Gunner goes to tag in Shaw but Anderson intercepts and continues to pick apart Robbie. He then tags Gunner back in (when Gunner clearly wants Shaw in the match) and Robbie gets the jump on Gunner, bringing DJ Z into the scrum as well. It's a surprisingly good showing for Ion against Gunner. Gunner crawls to the corner looking for Shaw but Anderson gets in again and this time he's dominated by the whole BroMans team. Shaw ends up storming into the ring and taking apart the entire BroMans crew, expecting some accolades from Anderson but as the two begin to argue, Robbie sneaks in with a rollup and Jessie prevents Shaw from breaking the count. It's over and Anderson is hella pissed. He tries to take it out on Shaw and Gunner tells everybody to be cool.
Result: BroMans and DJ Z defeat Mr. Anderson, Gunner and Samuel Shaw when Robbie pins Anderson.
Backstage, Dixie tells King Mo that it's the end of Bully Ray and we have commercial sign.
Extreme Weapons Match: Team EC3 vs. Team Bully
Inside the Manhattan Center, the war is on. Team Dixie and Team Bully are both loaded for bear. It's an "extreme weapons match," folks. Tommy Dreamer and EC3 are the first two guys out and as the countdown clock rolls, the two guys trade a barrage of blows. Rhino is the next guy out and he's all over Tommy. EC3 gets a crack in on Dreamer with a kendo stick. Devon levels the playing field and lays out both Carter cronies, punctuating his assault by waffling EC3 with a trashcan lid to the brain. Let's pause for a breather.
After a bevy of paid advertisements, we return to the Anderson/Gunner/Shaw situation, joined in progress backstage. Gunner gets all up in Anderson's grill and this time Shaw breaks it up and tells everyone to be like Fonzie. Anderson storms off and Gunner slaps a wall or cabinet or something.

During the commercial break, Snitisky apparently came out as the next guy. Now it's Bully Ray's turn to make an impact and he hits everyone and their mother with a garbage can. He then takes a chain to EC3 and bites the hell out of his forehead. A wide shot shows all three members of Team Bully on top. EC3 is way busted open and Bully has some of Carter's blood on him too. Big Zeke hits the ring next and the advantage seems to swing back to EC3's group. Dreamer gets a face-full of chair courtesy of Snitsky and the action in the ring is fast and furious. EC3 wraps the chain around Bully's neck and it looks like curtains until Al Snow emerges as the fourth member of Team Bully. The crowd approves, waving a bunch of styrofoam heads. Snow whoops up on Carter for a bit and Spud gets involved with a kendo stick but all four members of Team Bully gang up on the little guy and after a big spash from Snow, the bratty Brit is out of the mix. Team Bully agrees that it's time for the tables but Snitsky and Zeke have regrouped on the outside, prompting Snow to take them all out with moonsault off the apron. Inside the ring, Rhino goes back on the offensive but Team 3-D puts him down and gets the pin. It's all over.
Result: Team 3-D wins via pinfall when Devon pins Rhino.
After the match, Bully grabs a mic and calls out Dixie. He says that the clock is winding down and it's almost table time. Dixie disagrees and says King Mo will knock out Bully Ray. Tnay wonders aloud if tonight is the night that Dixie will go through the table after basically confirming that during the shows intro.
The Beautiful People are next but let's watch that Mountain Dew KickStart commercial again first.
After the tide of commercials subsides, we get a promo for Bound for Glory which will be in Tokyo this year. Then The Beautiful People come out and Angelina Love demands a title match despite the fact that she foiled the last match between Gail Kim and Taryn Terrell. Taryn makes her way out and the women talk some smack. The live crowd seems to think it's a good idea to interrupt this segment with a lot of "What?" chants. Then Gail Kim comes out and announces that she has spoken to Kurt Angle and gotten the go ahead to defend her title against Angelina and Taryn. Oh yeah?and Velvet. Kind of a serious wedge developing in the land of the Beautiful People with that announcement. The Beauts attack Gail and Taryn but they ultimately get tossed. The four-way championship match will be next week, y'all.
Somewhere in the catacombs of the Manhattan Center, James Storm tells Sanada to go out and win the X-Division title. Sanada looks like he's having a serious moral crisis. Commercial time.
We're back with a quick promo for the new guy "H***K" and next week's card which includes the first meeting between Team 3-D and the Hardy Boys in two decades. Then Bully rages about the war he just won and what's in store for the next battle ahead.
James Storm comes out ahead of the main event and he introduces Sanada who is competing in tonight's main event, a triple threat for the X-Division title.
X-Division Title Match: Sanada vs. Low Ki vs. Samoa Joe
The triple threat match starts and the crowd is still pretty pumped. Joe is all over Sanada like a beast after Low Ki ends up on the outside. Sanada manages to slow Joe down and Low Ki returns to the fray and squares off with Sanada. After some back and forth, Joe dumps Low Ki outside and teases a dive but Sanada puts the kibosh on those plans. After a scrap between the two, Sanada and Low Ki end up fighting outside and Joe hits them both with a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Joe powerbombs Sanada for a near fall and then follows up with a crossface but there's no tapout in sight. Sanada fights out and Low Ki comes back in to make things interesting. Joe and Low Ki finally end up face to face and trade punches but Joe ends up on top with a huge size advantage. He almost puts Low Ki away with a musclebuster but Low Ki locks in a submission. Sanada breaks it up and Low Ki responds by attacking the puroesu pro and landing another near fall. Joe comes back into it and tries for a cross-arm breaker on Low Ki but it doesn't hold. Sanada breaks it up. The crowd chants "Joe is gonna kill you" and Joe eventually locks in the choke on Sanada who taps quickly. Joe gets the strap.
Result: Samoa Joe wins the X-Division title after Sanada submits.
Backstage, Dixie tells King Mo to take out Bully. Mo says "He's done." It's almost that time, folks.
After some important messages, Dixie comes out to the ring with King Mo on her arm and her entire defeated team in tow. She trashes the live crowd and fires Big Zeke and Snitsky on the spot. No need to pipe in canned heat for this segment; she's practically on fire at this point. Team Bully arrives more confident than ever and Dixie is left with King Mo, Spud and EC3 to protect her. Bully stands face to face with Mo and grabs a mic, telling her that she's the most hated woman in the history of wrestling. Tommy tells her she's going through the table because she represents what's wrong with the biz. Mo punches Dreamer, Bully (gingerly) tosses Mo outside and Devon disposes of Spud. Now Team 3-D is alone with Dixie. Spud manages to snatch her outside at the last moment, unaware that the majority of the locker room has emerged behind him to force Dixie back into the ring. Tommy scoops her up on to the apron, Devon takes her over to Bully and soon enough, the deed is done. She crashes through the table and totally sells it. Bully gets a crazy, carzy look in his eyes, the live crowd celebrates in Dixie's comeuppance and this one is history.
