TNA Impact Wrestling Results: Team 3-D Wins Big, New Wrestler Debuts

Welcome to WrestlingINC.com's live coverage and results for TNA Impact Wrestling. Tonight show was taped earlier this month in New York City, home of the world's first elevator shaft. Really.

Please spread word of our viewing party and complete results via Facebook and Twitter.

Tonight's show begins with a recap of last week's controversy and then Kurt Angle addresses the crowd and explains that there will be a grudge match between EC3 and Rhino as well as the first match of the tag series tonight. He also indicates that he'll "hash out" the "photo finish" from last week's cage match and let everyone know when he figures out where Eric Young or Bobby Roode is the top contender for the title.

Bobby Lashley emerges with MVP and Kenny King. MVP takes to the mic and harangues Kurt Angle and pretty much everybody in New York City. Miley Cyrus, too. He proclaims that Lashley is the real "King of New York" but Tommy Dreamer comes out to take issue with that claim. Dreamer gives Lashley some props but King ambushes him before he can finish the promo. Dreamer rolls out and grabs a kendo stick as MVP begs him to reconsider. Angle books a New York City Street Fight between Lashley and Dreamer for tonight, which sounds pretty sweet to the live crowd. Lashley starts beating up Dreamer as the bell sounds to officially begin the contest.

Lashley vs. Tommy Dreamer – NYC Street Fight

Things are in full effect after the break. Dreamer waffles Lashley with a pizza tray and goes after him with a kendo stick, partially snapping it on Lashley. Bobby blocks the next on and lays out Dreamer with a belly-to-belly on the ramp. He tosses Tommy into the guardrail and works him over a bit more. At times, it looks like the champ is flicking his sweat at fans. They climb back into the six-sided ring and Lashley continues to pound and crush Dreamer, finally putting him down with a clothesline. King hops up on the apron to hold Tommy in place for a spear but the Innovator of Violence dodges it and Kenny gets the impact. Tommy grabs a trash can and crowns Lashley but he doesn't stay on top for long. He tries coming back with a new kendo stick from the top rope but Lashley catches him with a clothesline and hits a spear to wrap it up. The ref counts three and it's all over.

Result:Lashley defeats Tommy Dreamer

We get promos for later, Madison Rayne talks candidly backstage about how tired she is of hearing about Taryn Terrell's comeback, and we have commercial sign.

Following the commercials, TNA offers a promo indicating that "HAVOK" arrives next week. Then we get a glimpse of Gunner and Samuel Shaw being friends and calling each other "bro." A short, strange spot.

Madison Rayne vs. Taryn Terrell – #1 Contender's Match

The ladies lock up and do some straight-up grappling. Terrell actually gets somewhat aggressive and lands a flip or two but Madison plasters he good and knocks her out of the ring. Rayne looks a little worried at first but goes down on the floor and rolls Taryn back in, following up with a near fall. Terrell kicks out and roars back. Both women slug it out in the middle of the ring and Madison puts Terrell down for another near fall before they get back and exchange more blows. Rayne levels Terrell with a kick and goes for another pin but her opponent stays in the game, coming alive again off the ropes and knocking Rayne down a few times. She almost gets the three-count on Rayne and when it doesn't take, Terrell ascends the ropes for a cross-body, pins Madison again and it's another near fall. Madison changes it up and gets some heel heat when she covers Terrell with both feel on the ropes for leverage. After the ref breaks it up, Terell hits a neckbreaker and gets the pin. She's the new number-one contender.

Result: Taryn Terrell defeats Madison Rayne by pinfall.

Kurt Angle sits down with Eric Young and Bobby Roode to talk about some things and we go to break.

We fade back from commercial and in a moment of extreme creepitude, Samuel Shaw has put on Gunner's old uniform and Gunner walks in and angrily tells Shaw to take it off.

Back in the venue, we have a 6-man tag going on featuring the best and brightest of the X-Division.

Manik, Homicide and DJ Zema Ion vs. Tigre Uno, Low Ki and Crazzy Steve

This one is fast and loose. DJ Z takes on Tigre Uno and they work pretty well together. Tigre hits a nice move off the rope, prompting DJ Z to tag in Manik. Tigre continues to look strong, laying out Manik Manik brings Z back in who keeps Uno under control and Homicide comes in next. The action unfolds quickly as Manik and Low Ki end up in the ring, this stilme slowing things down but Low Ki looks incredibly tough, nailing Maink with a double-stomp. Crazzy Steve and Homicide lock up and they end up outside. DJ Z teases that he's going to put Low Ki away and Tigre takes him out before Z can land a blow. Back inside, Low Ki annihilates Manik and pins him, prompting the bell. That was kind of wild.

Result: Low Ki's team wins.

Commercials roll in and roll out and we come back to hear Rhino saying he is going to gore the holy bejeezus out of Ethan Carter III.

Bobby Roode is in the ring and on the mic, advising the TNA Universe that they've decided to settle the question of who is the number-one contender by having another match next week in which EY and Roode meet again. Seems legit. Eric Young comes out and both guys give each other mad props and Tenay praises their competitive spirit.

BroMans and DJ Z ham it up backstage in a funny segment. They're going to do some kind of funny dating contest. Tenay reminds us there's a big tag match later but in the meantime, EC3 and Spud are on their way to the ring. There will be a match after these important messages.

Back from the break, Rhino makes his entrance and it's time to get it on.

Ethan Carter III vs. Rhino

The ECW Original charges the ring and pounds on Carter, chucking him out of the ring. Carter tries to throw Rhino into something but he's blocked and it's Carter who hits the rail. They end up back in the ring and Rhino stays in charge for a spell but Carter slows his momentum but tossing his opponent into the turnbuckle. Carter begins picking apart Rhino, keeping him on the mat while he lands kicks and elbows. EC3's offense is a convincing onslaught, earning him a near fall. Carter goes for a submission hold but Rhgino powers out and comes back strong, hitting a big drop and setting up for the gore. Spud interferes, giving Carter the chance to hit a low blow but it only gets him a two-count. After some more back and forth, Rhino gets ready to gore again, Spud prevents it from happening and EC3 brings a chair into the ring, hitting Rhino and earning the DQ.

Post-match, EC3 whacks Rhino some more, signaling that there's clearly some unfinished business.

Result: Rhino wins via DQ

Cowboy James Storm introduces his protégée and disciple Sanada, re-christened "The Great Sanada" as a kind of implied swipe at Muta. Strangely, Sanada comes out conspicuously holding his hood down, then for the big reveal of his face, he turns away from the camera ? seemingly in an accident of bad tioming ? and then as he's about to turn around, they cut to storm. Finally, we get a good look at Sanada's painted puss and he looks a lot like Muta. His former pal Austin Aries comes out for a match.

The Great Sanada vs. Austin Aries

The crowd supports Aries but this looks like Sanada's match to lose. His offense comes on strong and Aries struggles to hang in there. Sanada lands some grapples and tires him down with mat-heavy repertoire. Aries eventually comes back and bounces Sanada from corner to corner. He lands a neck breaker off the ropes and dives into Sanada who is on the outside. They end up working some steady, back and forth moves until a weird but effective spot where Sanada breaks Aries' hold by biting his finger. Snada's momentum increases from there and he finally give Aries a faceful of green mist and puts Aries away for good with a kick to the face. The ref counts three and Storm is pleased.

Result: The Great Sanada defeats Austin Aries by pinfall.

After the break, Chris Melendez is introduced to TNA fans by Kurt Angle, Mr. Anderson, and Team 3-D. Anderson talks about the Wounded Warrior project and his involvement with Melendez and turns it over to Team 3-D who trained Chris to be a wrestler. Bully Ray explains that Devon and he decided to train Melendez for free after hearing his story and Devon rounds out the conversation by formally welcoming Chris to the roster.

Introductions start before the commercial and after the ads are over, it's bell time.

The Hardys vs. Team 3D vs. The Wolves

Bully Ray is in first and he has to fend off some quick tags in and out by the Wolves. Bully slows Richards down and sets to work with some chops, punctuated with trash talk. Richards comes back with a flurry of kicks but Bully stays in the fold. Devon teases coming off the top and Eddie runs in to foil that spot. Both Hardys end up in the ring and Team 3-D just dominates everyone. Devon gets a near fall and whoops up on Richards after he kicks out. He tags in Matt who fights a little and then tags in Jeff. Jeff looks for a pin but it's far from over. Matt comes back in and works on Richards some more. He looks for a pin but Devon breaks it up, they clothesline each other and then Eddie comes in and takes a few shots at whoever he can hit. Both Hardys take on the Wolves, tossing them into the ropes and the Wolves end up diving outside and taking out Team 3-D. The Hardy's then fly outside, knocking the other two teams over. The live crowd says it's awesome. The Wolves try a double-team effort on Matt for the pin and Jeff breaks it up by diving inside. It's a really cool spot, actually. The Wolves then turn their attention to Devon and both guys land a double-stomp off the top. Bully Ray tries to reign it in and Jeff takes Bully out. Davey and Matt fight next and Matt lands a decent Twist of Fate, followed by a Swanton from Jeff. Team 3-D slip inside and deliver their tremendous finisher and pin Eddie Edwards, winning the first match of the series. That was a really fun match.

Result: Team 3-D wins; they pick the stip for the next match.
