Bellator 123 Results: New Champion Crowned, King Mo In Action, Bobby Lashley, More
Patricio "Pitbull" Freire made the most of his long-awaited shot at the featherweight title, scoring a decision victory over Pat Curran Friday night in the main event of Bellator 123.
Freire, who had previously lost to Curran, dominated the five-round fight from Connecticut that aired on Spike TV. He took four of the rounds on two scorecards, while winning three of the five on the other.
Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal didn't let multiple changes in opponents cause him problems, as the former Strikeforce champion finished Dustin Jacoby in the second round. TNA world heavyweight champion Bobby Lashley earned a submission win in his Bellator debut, while Cheick Kongo defeated Lavar Johnson in a battle of ex-UFC heavyweights.
