Chris Jericho On How Kane Caused Him To Bleed On Raw, Getting Physical With Former WWE Star
In a tune-up for his match with Randy Orton this Sunday at Night of Champions, Chris Jericho took on Kane and beat him. During the contest, Jericho drew a gash on his chin that required five stitches to close.
Jericho addressed the injury on today's edition of Talk Is Jericho on PodcastOne.com, where he revealed that Kane's massive shoulder grazed him enough that it split his chin and made him bleed a bit. It forced them to pause the match, which Jericho hates since it kills the story, kills momentum, and is wimpy.
"It's the sign of the times," Jericho added.
Jericho then recalled another incident involving blood that took place a few years ago during a match with Yoshi Tatsu at a non-televised WWE event.
Jericho loved working with Tatsu in Japan, so he wanted to bring the house down in the United States. Tatsu, however, wouldn't stop working his "wimpy timid WWE style," so Jericho threw him down, took off his kneepad, and busted his face open with a knee drop. They had to stop the match until Tatsu stopped bleeding, during which Jericho relaxed on a folding chair in the middle of the ring with his arms crossed. Upon getting up, Tatsu gave Jericho super stiff kicks. "He kicked the s–t out of me," and they had a great match that is one of his favorites.
"Was it unprofessional, yeah, but I wanted a great match," Jericho said.
