Thea Trinidad Talks Honoring Her Father Who Passed Away On 9/11, Appearing For WWE In MSG

The Brooklyn Daily Eagle has a great article on Thea "Rosita" Trinidad, that you can read here. During the interview, Thea discussed her father, Michael, who died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks while working on the 103rd floor of the World Trade Center's North Tower.

Thea talked about watching pro wrestling with her father at an early age, and said that they would often attend WWE events in the New York City area. She noted that he even dreamed of pursuing a WWE career.

"My dad was a wrestler in high school," Thea said. "He was really good and had a great amateur background, but it was always his dream to be in the WWE."

Thea noted that after her father's passing, she decided to celebrate his life by entering professional wrestling. She spent time training with Amazing Red, Sarita, Hijo del Gladiador, Tony Salazar and Tommy Dreamer before signing with TNA in 2011.

Thea also talked about being a Rosebud in Adam Rose's entourage, and talked about appearing as a Rosebud at the WWE events in Madison Square Garden and Wildwood, NJ this past July.

"When I got to MSG, I had to look around and just take it in. I looked at the crowd and couldn't believe it," she said. "Instead of butterflies in my stomach, I had hawks!"

She said that she prayed to her father backstage and thanked him for watching over her.

"I talked to him in the locker room and, of course, I cried," Thea said. "I really felt like it was not a coincidence that I was performing at these two venues. I was like, 'He's up to something.'"

Thea also posted the video below this morning of her father's name on the memorial at the National September 11 Memorial Museum:
