Wrestling Reality TV Show On AMC Scrapped, Lilian Garcia Talks NY Jets, Best SmackDown Star
- WWE's website has a new poll asking fans who is the greatest SmackDown Superstar of the past 15 years – The Rock, The Undertaker, Kane, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio, Michelle McCool, Booker T, Big Show, JBL, John Cena, Eddie Guerrero, Edge or Batista. With over 8,000 votes, Taker is currently leading with 41%. The next closest are The Rock with 20% and Cena tied with Edge at 7%.
- As noted, Lilian Garcia will sing the National Anthem before Sunday's New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos NFL game, her 10th appearance for the Jets. Lilian commented on the appearance to WWE.com:
"The New York Jets have been so good to me over the years. It's really cool to have been received so well [by the fans]. I can't wait. Being in the middle of that stadium and looking around and seeing everyone with their hands over their hearts, you can hear a pin drop. ? It just sends chills up my spine. I'm really looking forward to doing again, and 10 times! This is an incredible honor to be asked that many times."
- We noted several months back that Billy Corgan's Resistance Pro Wrestling promotion was going to be featured on a new AMC reality TV show. The series was set to include eight 60-minute episodes in the first season. Variety reports that AMC is cutting back on their reality TV shows in a big way and Corgan's wrestling show will not be happening.
PWInsider reports that AMC has given it's blessing for show producers to shop Corgan's series to other potential networks or streaming services.
