Dan Henderson's Next Fight Official, UFC 183 And 184 Get New Bouts, Mir, Tate, UFC 180 Embedded
- Check out the latest episode of "UFC 180: Embedded," as fighters continue to prepare themselves for Saturday's card. Wrestling Inc. will have complete coverage, and you can see the video in the player above.
Fabricio Werdum, Mark Hunt, Kelvin Gastelum and Dennis Bermudez all stop by an NBA game, which took place in Mexico City earlier this week between the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves.
- Dan Henderson and Gegard Mousasi never crossed paths while in Japan or Strikeforce. But they will do so inside the Octagon, as officials added the middleweight contest to the January card from Sweden.
Henderson (30-12) is moving back down to 185 pounds after a run at light heavyweight left him short of a title shot. He was submitted by Daniel Cormier earlier this year. Mousasi (35-5-2) is a former Strikeforce champion like Henderson, and is also coming off a defeat.
The card will feature Alexander Gustafsson vs. Anthony Johnson for the No. 1 contender spot at light heavyweight. The main card airs January 24 on FOX.
- A pair of bouts were announced for 2015 pay-per-views during "UFC Tonight" Wednesday evening, as Miesha Tate meets Sara McMann at UFC 183 and Frank Mir battles Antonio Silva at UFC 184.
Tate (15-5) and McMann (8-1) are both former No. 1 contender, with each having been defeated by Ronda Rousey. Tate rebounded with two wins this year, while McMann is coming off a victory over Lauren Murphy. The bout will take place January 31 as part of the Anderson Silva-Nick Diaz event from Las Vegas.
Mir (16-9), a former champion, will return to action for the first time in a year when he meets Silva (18-6) on February 28. Mir was defeated by Alistair Overeem this past February, while Silva lost to Andrei Arlovski.
That event boasts a pair of title fights, with Chris Weidman facing Vitor Belfort for the middleweight belt and Rousey defending her female bantamweight strap vs. Cat Zingano.
