Flashback Audio: Jim Ross Talks How TNA And ROH Can Improve, If There Is Oversaturation

Ross stated that he does not feel that the business has a problem with oversaturation at the present, noting that TNA's Impact Wrestling only airs once a week on television and Ring of Honor's reach and appeal haven't been fully maximized by Sinclair Broadcasting yet.

"WWE produces a lot of television," Ross noted. "That may be where your point of oversaturation?would come into play."

Discussing TNA's struggle to earn a more prominent place in the market, Ross said: "What they're missing the boat on is not being more unique and separating their presentation from a more WWE-like presentation... TNA's got a core of really talented men and women. I might be too old-school, but I think people tune into a TNA Wrestling show because they want to watch wrestling."

Regarding Ring of Honor, Ross noted that the overall quality of the broadcast must improve in order to convince viewers that the product is a worthwhile endeavor.

"They need better lighting and production elements, which one would assume they would want to do being a broadcast entity. It looks like it's been produced by the sophomore drama class." Ross also advocated for better pacing with regard to ROH's in-ring work. I think they should slow down and sell more? Selling is a huge part of pro wrestling and it's a fundamental skill that is learned and refined."

J.R. said he watches a lot of wrestling each and every week, indicating that he catches Monday Night Raw most often and that he watches SmackDown via DVR. Ross also said he frequently catches Ring of Honor via a local FOX affiliate and conceded that he typically misses Impact Wrestling but suggested he might start recording the show so that he can watch it on a more regular basis.
