Jon Jones Tossed People Out Windows, UFC 180 And Bellator 131 Weigh-In Results
- UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has quite the reputation – both inside and outside of the Octagon. Colby Covington, his roommate while both won junior college championships at Iowa Central, recently told FOX Sports about a story concerning Jones.
"We got into a lot of trouble," Covington said. "When you're in a small town in Iowa, a lot of kids are farm kids and they always wanted to start some stuff with the wrestlers and I was a national champ in college and Jon was a national champ, so they'd always try to pick fights at our house parties and stuff. We would just clear out the place of a bunch of townies. Especially Jon — he'd be throwing people through windows and stuff. It was nuts. He has a bad temper, when he gets mad — he gets mad."
Covington has won both of his Octagon fights, and was also a roommate with one-time UFC title contender Joe Soto while in Iowa. Jones will return to action this January against Daniel Cormier.
- Mark Hunt and Fabricio Werdum both made weight Friday for their main event fight at UFC 180. The two will compete for the interim heavyweight title from Mexico on pay-per-view.
Hunt hit the 265-pound mark, while Werdum weighed in at 232 pounds. In all, no fighter missed weight for the card, which also airs on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
