Lucha Underground News: Match Heavily Edited, Former WWE Star Getting Big Role, Alberto Del Rio

- Alberto Del Rio appeared on the most recent episode of Wrestle Talk TV, which you can watch above. At the 19:45 mark, Del Rio talked about Lucha Underground and said that he will be joining the promotion next year and "the sky's the limit."

- The Blue Demon-Chavo Guerrero match from the premiere episode was originally slated to be a 15+ match, but suffered from several mishaps with the finish being blown twice before they finally correctly performed it. The match was edited down to 5 minutes, but it still wasn't what they had originally hoped for.

"Imagine how bad the match was to edit it that much and still your imagination wouldn't do it justice. It was THAT bad," says a source.

- While the Chavo-Blue Demon match didn't go as hoped, the Johnny Mundo-Prince Puma match has been getting universal praise. If you haven't seen it you can watch it on their official YouTube channel by clicking here, it's worth going out of your way to check out.

- While the Chavo Guerrero vs. Blue Demon match wasn't the high flying statement many expected, there is likely to be more of it on future shows as Chavo has been emphasizing that style of wrestling as the template for what Lucha Underground should be as opposed to the more fast-paced AAA style from the sister promotion in Mexico. Chavo is the senior agent in charge of laying out matches and finishes for most matches and suggests matches for the tapings to DeJoseph.

- While with WWE, DeJoseph scripted Big Ryck, f.k.a. Ezekiel Jackson, the last ECW Champion. DeJoseph has promised a major role for the ex-WWE wrestler for the January TV tapings.
