Retro Wednesday: Most Popular Wrestler Never To Step Foot In A WWE Ring?

This week will be an open forum to voice your personal best. The topic will cover who you think the most popular wrestler is to never step foot in the WWE. There are a limited selection to choose from, but some notable wrestlers who are included in the selection.

With Sting out of the options, the credentials are still as follows: the wrestler must have never stepped foot or wrestled in a WWE ring. However, Hall of Fame inductees do count as options.

Personally, Nikita Koloff is my pick. Not only was he one of the best villains in pro wrestling during the 1980s, but he was so engulfed in his character that he altered his voice to sound Russian, even changing his name in the process.

There are many rumors over the years that he was offered on several occasions to be on the WWE roster, but held out in hopes for more money. Based on his body of work during this time, it would seem to be legitimate.

Koloff was certainly a person who could have made a lasting impression in the WWE, and should be in the Hall of Fame. However, he is one of few who can say that he has never stepped foot in a WWE ring, but created an indelible persona that will not be forgotten.
