Hulk Hogan Talks About Gays In Pro Wrestling And His Friendship With Pat Patterson

The Huffington Post recently spoke with Hulk Hogan about gays in professional sports. Hogan commented on athletes who have come out in recent years:

"I think everybody's been reeducated, so it's not that big a deal. At least for me — and I can only speak from my heart — I've got people all around me who are gay, so it's not an issue with me. I think the whole world feels like that now."

Hogan also commented on gays in wrestling and WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson.

"I knew Pat was gay back in 1976, when he helped me start wrestling," Hogan said. "Whenever I see Pat, I give him a big hug and kiss. He's my guy! There are several wrestlers in Japan who are gay. I've just never looked at it as anything weird. It was normal."

Hogan also indicated that the once-standard archetypes have been broken down and have no place in pro wrestling, on or off the camera. Hogan said, "That barbaric mindset we inherited is not a set piece in people's minds."
