WWE NXT Star Announces Retirement From In-Ring Competition

NXT star Corey Graves announced on the NXT Takeover: R Evolution pre-show that he will have to retire from in-ring competition. Graves noted that doctors advised him to retire due to concussion-related issues.

Graves went on to announce that he will be joining the NXT announce team, and proceeded to call the NXT Takeover: R Evolution event. Full NXT Takeover: R Evolution results are here.

Graves was signed to a WWE developmental contract in 2011, after spending over a decade on the independent scene. He is a former NXT Tag Team Champion, which he won with current NXT Champion Adrian Neville in July of 2013 by defeating Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. They lost the titles that September to the Ascension.
