Hulk Hogan Talks Making Up With Ultimate Warrior, What Caused Their Problems, Warrior's Death
Just yesterday we mentioned how Hulk Hogan spoke on Chris Jericho's Talk Is Jericho podcast about making amends with Randy Savage prior to his death. Hogan also spoke about making up with longtime rival Ultimate Warrior on the podcast.
Hogan said that Triple H and Vince McMahon made a personal request for Hogan to allow Warrior to get through WrestleMania weekend before trying to speak with him. Warrior had been upset about statements Hogan made while being a witness the lawsuit filed over the Self Destruction Of The Ultimate Warrior DVD.
"Halfway through the day I got bored," Hogan said. "Me and Nick jumped on a golf cart and rode by a guy in a suit, and it was Warrior. I can't run but I kind of trotted up." Hogan said Warrior seemed like he thought there was going to be a confrontation, but Hogan made it clear he wanted to reconcile their friendship.
"I just want to start over, I want to apologize. If we could be friends that would be incredible. And that darn WWE camera rolled around, and I didn't know they had a camera on me the whole time. I'm so glad I stopped that golf cart," he said. Hogan also said Warrior was hesitant to accept his apology.
Hogan said that he let Triple H and Vince McMahon know that he apologized. Just a couple of days later, Vince said he had bad news for him. Hogan thought it was in jest until the news of Warrior's death was revealed.
"Thank God I got to talk to him," Hogan said.
